Project Cars Developer Says It’s Not Paid By Nvidia to Ruin the Game for AMD Hardware

Project CARS Karts 8

Project Cars has been released now and similar to almost every other release, the game suffers from a number of post-release issues. The PC version of the game is having performance issues specifically with AMD GPUs.

As we know, AMD and Nvidia don’t see eye-to-eye so some of the fans started assuming the Nvidia may have something to do with this. Meaning Nvidia may have paid developer Slightly Mad Studios to intentionally cripple the game’s performance on AMD hardware.

According to Ian Bell from Slightly Mad:

Categorically, Nvidia have not paid us a penny. They have though been very forthcoming with support and co-marketing work at their instigation. We’ve had emails back and forth with them yesterday also. I reiterate that this is mainly a driver issue but we’ll obviously do anything we can from our side

On the other hand, AMD corporate vice president, Roy Taylor says they are working with Slightly Mad Studios to deal with the problem.

Slightly Mad Studios says they have provided folks over at AMD with 20 keys for game testing as they work on the driver side of things.

Hopefully, all issues will soon be sorted out not only on PC but other platforms as well. Project Cars is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
