The Sims 4 Career Paths Guide to Get Best Out of Jobs

In The Sims 4, there are a total of 8 career paths which are further divided into two branches – ranging from being a Tech Guru to an Astronaut.

The Sims 4 Career

In order to apply for a job, look for the open opportunities by using either your mobile phone or computer. After applying for the suitable job, check the ‘Job Details’ [denoted by a briefcase] in the bottom-right of your screen to see your timings and requirements to get a promotion.

Note: Your Sim can leave a career at any time and choose another career path.

Below, you’ll find a complete list of career paths offered in The Sims 4 along with requirements for the promotion, average weekly salary, and promotional rewards.

Astronaut

Being an Astronaut is certainly one of the most highly-paid jobs in The Sims 4. Your task, being an Astronaut, is to explore the outer spaces and discover the items of interest.

When opting for this skill, make sure to develop Physical Fitness, Charisma, and Logic skills as these will come in handy while getting a promotion.

Level 1 Intern
Promotional Reward: Astro Solar System Light

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,170, this Level requires you to successfully talk about space with 3 Sims.

Level 2 Module Cleaner
Promotional Reward: Astro Model Rocket

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,530, this Level requires you to reach Level 2 Logic skill.

Level 3 Technician
Promotional Reward: Star Seeker Original Blueprints

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,728, this Level requires you to reach Level 3 Logic skill and have a total of 4 Friends.

Level 4 Command Centre Lead
Promotional Reward: Portable Galaxy Lightshow

Paying you a weekly salary of §2,272, this Level requires you to reach Level 2 Physical Fitness and work out on weight machine for 4 hours.

Level 5 Low-Orbit Specialist
Promotional Reward: Mission Control

Paying you a weekly salary of §2,592, this Level requires you to reach Level 3 Physical Fitness and win 2 games of chess.

Level 6 Space Cadet
Promotional Reward: Salyut Aeronaut Chair

Paying you a weekly salary of §3,120, this Level requires you to reach Level 4 Logic skill, Level 5 Physical Fitness and run on the treadmill for 12 hours.

Level 7 Astronaut
Promotional Reward: Build Your Own Rocket Kit or Monolith

Paying you a weekly salary of §3,570, this Level requires you to reach Level 6 Logic skill, Level 6 Physical Fitness, and receive the Starry Night moodlet from the Point out Constellation social.

Space Ranger

Level 8 Planet Patrol
Promotional Reward: Astro-Bunny beyond Infinity

Paying you a weekly salary of §5,728, this Level requires you to reach Level 5 Charisma, drink space energy drink, and make 7 Friends.

Level 9 Sheriff of the Stars
Promotional Reward: Apollo Rocketship

Paying you a weekly salary of §8,316, this Level requires you to reach Level 7 Charisma, Level 7 Physical Fitness and writing a book.

Level 10 Space Ranger
Paying you a weekly salary of §12,460, this is the last skill of this career path.

Interstellar Smuggler

Level 8 Moon Mercenary
Promotional Reward: Zero-G Training Bag

With a weekly salary of §6,432, this Level requires you to reach Level 3 Mischief, Level 3 Programming skill, and earn §1,000 by hacking others.

Level 9 Alien Goods Trader
Promotional Reward: Retro Rocketship

Paying you a weekly salary of §8,372, this Level requires you to reach Level 5 Mischief, Level 8 Physical Fitness, and collect a total of 5 space rocks.

Level 10 Interstellar Smuggler
With a weekly salary of §14,868, this is the last level of this career path.

Painter

Emotion: Inspired
Regular Task: Painting

Now although Painting as a profession doesn’t pay as much as Astronaut, but it’s exceedingly fun to opt for! When going for this career path, make sure to develop Painting and Charisma skills by either reading books or practicing paintings.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that you can also sell your paintings for extra bit of cash and even have them exhibited in an art gallery.

Level 1 Palette Cleaner
Promotional Reward: Picture Perfect Art Lighting

Paying you a weekly salary of §840, this Level requires you to reach Level 2 Painting and praise 3 different paintings.

Level 2 Art Book Collator
Promotional Reward: Study of the Human Form

Paying you a weekly salary of §920, this Level requires you to reach Level 3 Painting and research art on computer twice.

Level 3 Hungry Artist
Promotional Reward: Easy-Breezy Easel

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,040, this Level requires you to reach Level 4 Painting and make 3 different-sized paintings

Level 4 Watercolour Dabbler
Promotional Reward: Painting Canvas Storage Rack

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,160, this Level requires you to reach Level 5 Painting and create 1 painting of Outstanding rating.

Level 5 Canvas Creator
Promotional Reward: Vase of Sunflowers

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,400, this Level requires you to reach Level 6 Painting and sell a total of 5 paintings.

Level 6 Imaginative Imagist
Promotional Reward: Artiste Supply Taboret

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,540, this Level requires you to reach Level 7 Painting and create a total of 3 different-sized paintings in HQ.

Master of the Real

Level 7 Artist en Residence
Promotional Reward: Deluxe All-Season Easel

Paying you a weekly salary of §2,340, this Level requires you to reach Level 8 Painting and create a masterpiece.

Level 8 Professional Painter
Promotional Reward: Premium Prima Ballerina

Paying you a weekly salary of §2,800, this Level requires you to reach Level 9 Painting and make a painting of every genre with Outstanding rating.

Level 9 Illustrious Illustrator
Promotional Reward: Flegel Studio Floor Lamp

Paying you a weekly salary of §4,200, this Level requires you to reach Level 10 Painting, sell 3 masterpieces and talk about paintings with other Sims.

Level 10 Master of the Real
With a weekly salary of §4,920, this is the last level of this career path.

Patron of the Arts

Level 7 Colour Theory Critic
Promotional Reward: Stack of Canvases

Paying you a weekly salary of §2,100, this Level requires you to reach Level 8 Painting, praise 10 paintings, and talk about colour theory with other Sims.

Level 8 Fine-Art Aficionado
Promotional Reward: Pre-Owned Painter’s Easel

Paying you a weekly salary of §3,150, this Level requires you to reach Level 9 Painting, get a masterpiece painting, and talk about aesthetics with other Sims.

Level 9 Composition Curator
Promotional Reward: Rustic Dream Bed

Paying you a weekly salary of §4,086, this Level requires you to reach Level 10 Painting, Level 3 Charisma, and own 10 masterpieces.

Level 10 Patron of the Arts
Paying you a weekly salary of §6,560, this is the last level of this career path.

Writer

Being an author only requires you to be good at Writing skill and a personal computer – you’ll be spending a lot of time on it.

However, if you’re planning to go for Journalism, then you’ll also need to develop your Charisma skill which is important to get a promotion. Lastly, similar to Painting, you’ll be able to sell your works for extra bit of cash.

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,408, this Level requires you to reach Level 4 Writing and a total of 3 books.

Level 5 Regular Contributor
Promotional Reward: Antique Tomes

Paying you a weekly salary of §1,600, this Level requires you to reach Level 5 Writing and self-publish a total of 2 books.

Author

Level 6 Short Story Writer
Promotional Reward: N/A

Paying you a weekly salary of §2,400, this Level requires you to reach Level 7 Writing, earn a total of §500 from publishing books.

Level 7 Novelist

Paying you a weekly salary of §3,220, this Level requires you to reach Level 8 Writing and write a total of 5 books.

Paying you a weekly salary of §4,440, this Level requires you to reach Level 10 Writing and submit 5 books.

Level 10 Creator of Worlds
Paying you a weekly salary of §5,580, this is the last level of this career path.

Journalist

Paying you a weekly salary of §2,905, this Level requires you to reach Level 8 Writing, reach Level 3 Charisma and write a total of 5 articles.

Level 8 Investigative Journalist

Paying you a weekly salary of §4,060, this Level requires you to reach Level 9 Writing, reach Level 4 Charisma, and earn a total of §500 by writing articles.

Level 9 Editor-In-Chief
Promotional Reward: Deep Thoughts Bookcase

Paying you a weekly salary of §5,292, this Level requires you to reach Level 10 writing, reach Level 5 Charisma, earn a total of §2,500 by writing articles.

Level 10 Scribe of History
Paying you a weekly salary of §6,888, this is the last level of this career paths.

Criminal

Sims having negative traits and evil aspirations should most certainly opt for this career option which requires higher skill level in Programming, Charisma, Mischief, Physical Fitness, and Logic – yes, I know, but being a criminal is no child’s play.

This career option may not give you desired bucks, but you’ll be able to pickpocket, hack, and even break vaults to earn some extra cash over the top.
