Brawl Challenges

Fight multiple enemies against the clock. This is a pretty much exciting set of challenges but sometimes you are not allowed to use weapons or all your abilities.

Stage 1-1
Character: Strongest Kiryu (completely upgraded Kiryu)
Time Limit: 2 minutes 30 seconds
Weapons: NMR-Limbo Model (press left on the thumb stick) – 300 damage
Enemies: 5 homeless guys with one bar of hp each
Location: Intersection of Nakamichi and Taihei (in front of the coin
lockers)
Conditions: Defeat all the enemies.

Tips
This is an easy stage as you just have to defeat 5 of the hobos in less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. You start with a upgraded Kiryu and the hobos have only a single bar of HP so you can easily defeat them.
There are multiple ways to defeat them, either perform combos or the heat actions.

The most fun part is to pull out the Machine Gun, Spray & Pray. The buttons will shoot off a short burst of bullets that take off approximately 1/3 of a total health. This is a very easy challenge and you can easily win.

Stage 1-2
Character: Strongest Saejima
Time Limit: 5 minutes
Weapons: Gluttonous Wolf’s Mandible (left) – 60, Photon Blade PG (right) – 100, raging Dragon’s Hammer (up)
Enemies: An endless stream of weak enemies plus two enemies with incredibly long hp bar.
Location: Inside the Kamurocho Hills
Conditions: Defeat 100 enemies

Tips
You have a strong character so you don’t need to worry for the HP. Just choose any weapon and hit the enemies again and again, chose the spot where the least enemies are and you should easily win. The fist weapon can kill the enemy in only 3 hits whereas the blade and hammer in only 1.

Focus on the weak enemies and try to avoid the two big guys as the enemies are unlimited and they will just keep on coming, use the sword on the right one as its attacking rate is very slow but it is very reliable.

Stage 1-3
Character: Strongest Tanimura
Time limit: 5 minutes
Weapons: Grand Dragon Spear (left) – 90, Platinum Triangle (right) – 100, Dragon Deity Short Sword (up) – 120
Enemies: 1 guy with pistol, 1 guy with machine gun, 2 melee guys
Location: Kamurocho Roofs
Conditions: Defeat all the enemies

Tips
The first thing you should do in this one is kill the two enemies who are armed, quickly kill the machine gunner and then take out the pistol-wielding one. After that you can easily defeat the round. Use the dropped pistol for the awesomeness.

Stage 1-4
Character: Strongest Saejima
Time Limit: 5 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: 5 weak enemies who throw really damaging grenades, 1 sniper
Location: Prison Break Action Stage
Condition: Defeat all the enemies except for the sniper

Tips
This is the area where the final stage of Saejiam’s prison break was held, the place where you face the sniper. The good part is that the enemies of this challenge are very weak and easy to kill but some of their equipment as the grenades and the laser sight is very difficult to get rid of.

You will start the challenge facing towards South, turn and go around the building where you will see the first enemy. He may throw a grenade, it will not take a lot of your HP but if you go close enough then he may kill himself. After you have killed him, open the door which is on your east with fists.

You must keep rolling to avoid the sniper – a sniper only shoots when the green laser will turn full red. After entering into that door, go towards north and open the cage’s door. You will have to kill another enemy and go through the next door. After this door you will be fully covered from the snipers sight but the door will also lead you to the area which will have two enemies with grenades, kill them. After that you will see the final door which has final enemy.

Stage 1-5
Character: Weakest Kiryu (next to no abilities)
Time Limit: 3 minutes
Weapons: None (there are 5 guns that could be picked up)
Enemies: 8 shambling zombies
Location: The Underground Parking Lot
Condition: Defeat all the enemies, the enemies will not take damage except from pistols

Tips
The enemies of this challenge are quite slow but the bad part is that they only take damage from pistols which you don’t have in the start. So you must find one and lead your way through. There are a total of 5 guns which you can pick-up.

The first one is lying on the road just on the front of the 104 lot. Pick it up and kill the two zombies from it. The 2nd gun is in the 102 lot. The gun is right behind the pillar which is labeled 102, pick it up and kill two more enemies. The next pistol is near the 200 plate, grab it and kill the enemies. Follow the path and you will find another gun in front of few public bathrooms. DON’T miss a shot but if you fall short, you can find another gun near the wall of 302.

Stage 1-6
Character: Weakest Akiyama (you have very little hp)
Time Limit: 2 minutes 30 seconds
Weapons: None (there are things to be picked up)
Enemies: 2 Weak enemies with no means to attack, 1 crowned enemy with a pistol and decent hp
Location: The Kamurocho Roofs
Condition: Defeat all the enemies, you can’t attack the enemies except with thrown weapons.

Tips
The character is weakest akiyama, so you have a very little HP. You can not touch an enemy physically nor them, only one of them is armed with a gun that can be easily judged due to his yelling. As you can’t touch the enemies, what you have to do is pick up the items from the ground and throw it on the enemies.

The pick able items are not unlimited but the bottles of the crate are infinite so you can pick up as many you need. So first of all pick up the two grenades which are at the corner and throw them towards the crowned man. The first grenade will not kill him but will do enough damage for the second to take him out. Once he is dead the challenge can be completed easily.

Stage 1-7
Character: Strongest Akiyama
Time Limit: 25 seconds
Weapons: None
Enemies: 1 weak, crowned enemy
Location: The Docks
Condition: Defeat the enemy, if you slip, you fail

Tips
This challenge can be finished easily if done carefully, You cannot run in this or you’ll slip which will fail the mission. So walk by pressing the R1 button. Just walk straight towards the enemy and perform simple attacks to kill him. But you can’t sway as it will make you slip and fail the mission.

Stage 1-8
Character: Weakest Kiryu
Time Limit: 1 minute
Weapons: “Danger, do not hit” Sign (left) – 1000, Great Swordfish Spear (right) – varies
Enemies: 1 very powerful enemy with extremely low hp (purple), 1 weak enemy with long, replenishing hp (yellow)
Location: The Sewers
Condition: Defeat both enemies

Tips
This is a very tricky stage. The character has none of his abilities and one of the enemies is very powerful but his hp is very low. He can take almost all of you hp with only one of his attack so beware. But he is very easy to kill, a couple of punches will make him useless. But the yellow enemy doesn’t have that much damaging ability but his HP is very high and it keeps on regenerating.

So deliberately get hit by the purple enemy once and then perform a powerful counter attack to get rid of him. After that pull out the sign and hit the yellow enemy with it. Its only for one shot so switch to the spear and attack with it. Make sure you kill the yellow guy with it as his health regenerates and you won’t be able to survive if you lose it.

Stage 1-9
Character: Weakest Tanimura
Time Limit: 5 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: 1 white guy, 1 blue guy, 1 black guy
Location: In a grand hall of some kind
Condition: Defeat all the enemies

Tips
This is yet another tricky stage as your character is very weak with no good skills. The enemies – White guy kicks, blue guy punches and throws you where as the black guy has brass knuckles. So don’t get surrounded by all of them and go onto them one by one or you’ll just loose. Go for the white one first then the blue one and at the end, the black one.

Stage 1-10
Character: Weakest Kiryu
Time Limit: None
Weapons: None (can pick up weapons that enemies drop: 2 swords, 1 knife, 1 pipe)
Enemies: 5 – one with Chinese sword, two with sword, one with pipe, one with knife.
Location: On top of Millennium Tower
Condition: Defeat all enemies, you’ll die in one hit

Tips
Tough fight. DON’T get surrounded and kill the easy one’s first. The most powerful enemy is the guy with the pony tail. His sword has a great range and can take lot of your hp, so take out the Chinese guy first which is on your right side. He dies quickly with just one or two combos and is not very dangerous.

The enemies will now try to surround you so be cautious. Now our next target is the guy who has a sword and is with a little hp. Kill him and pick up his sword to guard the enemy attacks and then kill the guy who has a pipe. Now turn to last and the most dangerous enemy will be left. Kill him with the sword if it’s not gone yet or pick up the Pipe and attack him with the heat on.

Duel Challenges

In the duel challenges, you will have to face the bosses of the game and defeat them one-on-one.

Stage 2-1
Character: Strongest Akiyama
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: Minami with 2 long health bars
Location: in Elise
Condition: Defeat Minami

Tips
This is one easy fight, you will face Minami – he has 2 long health bars. Whenever you will attack him, his health will decrease to 1/2, he will start drinking. He will take full damage in this situation. But after he has drunk it, he will become more powerful and fast and gain the ability to perform counter-attacks.

After he has drunk twice, he will dodge a lot and enter into his purple heat mode. He will also counterattack while blocking, so stay sharp. The fight is easy, you can easily win by performing multiple Sx4 combos. If you corner him, you will get advantage. And almost all of your attacks will hit him this way.

He is very fast and can perform stunning counters after drinking the 3rd time. But at the time his HP is very low and you can defeat him with simple attacks on the right time.

Stage 2-2
Character: Strongest Saejima
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: Majima
Location: Batting Center
Condition: Defeat Majima

Tips
Majima will do a QTE after you have taken half of his HP. He also enters into heat mode after it. Majima is really fast but he will focus on counter attacks. After you have taken a little more than a full HP then he will start spinning, dodge to avoid most of his attacks. You cannot hit him or get him out of the spin once he is spinning.

After the spinning he will get tired, and this is a very good time for you to attack. After you have taken almost 1/2 of his health, he will perform another QTE attack.

The easiest way to go through the battle is to just perform multiple x3 combos, after every combo hold T. Your first try might miss but keep hitting T again and again, you will get closer to him and damage him. Just make sure you stay away from his attacks and the time when he is spinning.

Stage 2-3
Character: Strongest Tanimura
Time Limit: 2 minutes 30 seconds
Weapons: None
Enemies: Sugiuchi
Location: The Docks
Condition: Defeat Sugiuchi

Tips
Sugiuchi’s heat mode is difficult to predict. He mostly gets into it once you floor him and also turns it off when you’re in your heat mode. His throws are skillful; he will throw you with or without his heat mode. And if you will try to throw him in his heat mode then he will just perform a counter and throw you back, so don’t try that.

You can always save the heat action to counter his throws though. L1 attacks are also of no use when he is in his heat mode. Tanimura is very slow and this fight becomes quite annoying. The final T of your combo attacks will be very difficult to deliver, usually Sugiuchi will hit you before your combo will complete. Sx2Tx1 is the best and the most useful damaging combo for this fight. It is faster and works most of the time.

When Sugiuchi attacks you in normal mode then just simply L1 him. If he is performing his high kick combo, then guard until the third kick and then press L1. Now you will be able to perform a full combo attack, the best is Sx2TX1. You can also deliver a heat mode combo, but I would recommend you to save it for countering his throws.

Sometimes when you’ll floor him and he’ll be getting up. He will enter into his heat mode. If he goes into the heat mode while standing up, quickly press T near him and you’ll perform an arm lock on him. This will get him out of his heat mode if you do it correctly.

But if he doesn’t that don’t try to attack and block him as his heat mode is very strong. Just try to waste the time and move around the arena. If you want to face him and go from the front, then always use Sx2Tx1 combo. If you are lucky enough you will be able to kill him without getting a single hit. But, this totally depends on your luck and if you perform the counter-attacks and heat finishing moves correctly.

Stage 2-4
Character: Strongest Kiryu
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: Akiyama and Tanimura
Location: Northern Sewers
Condition: Defeat Akiyama and Tanimura

Tips
There are a lot of ways to complete this. Tanimura can perform the L1 tactic on you; he can also perform Heat combos. But his punches are very slow, where Akiyama is good on tricking and juggling. This challenge is very easy if you take one of them down very quickly. Both of these enemies are very easy to be fought alone so what you have to do is take one of them out.

Both of these characters have a very low HP so you can challenge anyone in the start, but I would recommend you to take on Akiyama as Tanimura is slippery. Sx3Tx2 is the combo which should work. Then kick him and floor him. Quickly pick him up and perform another combo on his back. After the combo he will barely need a punch or two to die.

Once you have taken him out you can easily kill the 2nd enemy. If you let them team-up there are a lot of coordinated moves they could do, so make sure you get one out of the game as soon as possible.

Stage 2-5
Character: Strongest Kiryu
Time Limit: None
Weapons: None
Enemies: Daigo and Arai
Location: Tojo House
Condition: Defeat Daigo and Arai with Akiyama

Tips
This is yet another round in which you will have to face two enemies. Both of these characters can do what they did in the Story mode. But don’t worry this is more like two one on one fights, as one character will keep on following you and the other will just stay back and stare.

If Daigo attacks you first then you should know that his blue heat mode is quite painful. You will not be able to knock him down and he will hit very very long combos. Most of his combos will break your guard. If you will try to run away from a combo he will perform a jumping attack whose range is quite big. You also can’t throw him and as he can performs several counter attacks.

He doesn’t guard much but he dodges a lot. He will get out of his blue heat mode when almost half of his HP bar will be left. He will enter into his second heat-mode now. You should save all your heat modes as only they will inflict damage to him. On his second heat mode, he has the ability to do everything from the first one and also throw you very quickly, and counter your attacks.

The only way of defeating him is to increase your heat level, which you can by blocking. The best time to damage him is when he’ll knock you down. Because everytime he’ll knock you down, he will start taunting. This is the best opportunity to use your heat action. This move will be enough to hunt him down.

Arai is quite easier. When he is not in his heat mode, he will not block a lot and will just dodge as all the other bosses do. It is very easy to get on his back-side through swaying. You should be careful that he will probably block the few last shots of your combos, and kick you back. This can be easily predicted so you will have to cut off your combos. When you will take almost half of his health bar then he will enter into his blue heat mode.

In this heat mode he is pretty much focused on attacks. He will be harder to catch and will dodge a lot, and whenever you will try to throw him he will just throw you back. After getting a little more damage he will enter into his red heat mode, in this he will be more powerful but a single heat action will be enough to get him out of it.

He will attack more often in the red heat mode. Be calm and only attack on the right time. These attacks don’t take a lot of HP and you can easily win with your half bar left.

Trial

The trial challenges are quite different than the other two. They are interesting because of their design. You need a clever mind as few of them are very tricky.

Stage 3-1
Character: Strongest Akiyama
Time Limit: None
Weapons: None
Enemies: Seven unarmed enemies with one bar of hp each
Location: Theater Square
Condition: Defeat more enemies (4+) than Hana-chan.

Tips
You team-up with Hana Chan in this challenge. Your main objective is to kill more enemies then Hana-Chan. The jumping attack of Hana-Chan decreases the hp of the enemies to 1/5. So stay close to her and whenever she does that attack, just attack the enemy before she has the chance to do it again. This way you can steal her kills. You just need to kill 4 out of 7.

Stage 3-2
Character: Weakest Tanimura
Time Limit: 1 minute
Weapons: None
Enemies: 3 unarmed enemies with low hp
Location: In a small office
Condition: Defeat all the enemies using only L1

Tips
This stage is pretty much annoying. The only attack you can do in this stage is to knock them into other people or to the walls by the L1 button. This stage is annoying because the enemy repeatedly crouches in fear and wastes a lot of time, almost 15 seconds are wasted due to this. You can only kill the enemies by crashing them into each other or hitting them into the walls by the L1 button.

After the stage starts, they form a triangle’s formation. So what you have to do is go in between them and keep pressing L1, you will probably hit the two of them with eachother. This way you can kill the enemy just by one hit but if you will hit them with the walls you will have to do it 4 times. So once you kill two of them, you will still have plenty of time to kill the 3rd one.

Stage 3-3
Character: Weakest Tanimura
Time Limit: None
Weapons: None (rocks and cans on the ground but can’t be picked up)
Enemies: 1 unarmed enemy with 2 bars of hp
Location: Okinawa bullfighting ring
Condition: Defeat the enemy without touching him (can use L1).

Tips
It’s not that difficult but it eats up more time, there is no time limit. You can’t directly attack(Touching is not allowed) the enemy as throws and kicks are not allowed, so what you have to do is kick the garbage towards the enemy, this will not do much damage but will gradually decrease the health.

But make sure you don’t miss because the garbage items are limited, once you shoot one it will go to the other side of the boundary and will be no longer accessible. Once you are out of stuff to kick, prop up against the wall and do the L1 trick. It takes some time but it is not considered touching the enemy.

Stage 3-4
Character: Strongest Saejima
Time Limit: None
Weapons: None
Enemies: 2 unarmed enemies with 1 bar of hp each
Location: Komaki’s Dojo
Condition: Defeat the enemies with exactly 10 attacks

Tips
This is one easy challenge, 10 attacks stands for 10 hits. You will have to get 10 hit points. Yes, if you push an enemy into another then it will be counted as two. The same way if your punch hits two of the enemies, the hits will be two. So make sure you manage the hits properly. If you are running out of hits then use a heat action after a throw.

Stage 3-5
Character: Weakest Tanimura
Time Limit: 1 minute
Weapons: None
Enemies: 3 fat dudes with fist weapons and 3 smaller guys with swords
Location: Arena
Condition: Survive for 1 minute; you cannot attack

Tips
You don’t need to attack nor kill anybody. All you have to do is survive in a cage for a minute. You can simply do it by running, but it is not that easy as it sounds. There are 6 enemies in the cage which will try to attack you. Keep running and dodging, stay away from the 3 fat dudes as their fist is really damaging. If you get hit by a sword then it doesn’t cause any trouble.

You will just fall down which is for your own good. Once you fall down, you will take some time to stand up. This will just waste the time as the attack doesn’t consume a lot of heath. Also, make sure you make the enemies to stay in a group as this way you’ll easily dodge them.

Stage 3-6
Character: Weakest Akiyama
Time Limit: 1 minute and 20 seconds
Weapons: None
Enemies: Minami
Location: Elise
Condition: Prevent Minami from picking up a mic

Tips
There will be two mics placed, one at your right and the other on the left side. And the enemy, Akiyama will be facing you. Your objective is to go towards a mic where Akiyama will go to. You will have to reach to that mic before him. Once you reach near it, you’ll see the option to pick that up. But don’t pick the mic.

Akiyama will turn towards the other mic, quickly run towards that mic and then he will again turn around for the other mic. You will have to keep circling for 1 minute and 20 seconds. You can not let him to reach to a mic before you or the challenge will fail, just don’t stop and keep on circling around the two mics and you will complete the challenge.

Stage 3-7
Character: Strongest Saejima
Time Limit: 3 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: None – unless rolling boulders count as enemies
Location: Senin’s cave system
Condition: Break all the rock walls

Tips
This is an interesting challenge. You will have to break all of the rock walls. The first 7 piled up on each other. Perform a x3 combo and repeat it until all of them are broken. The next pile is on the left side, it is pretty much the same but this one will have rolling boulders coming towards you.

Hit the walls in the same old way and make sure you catch the boulders before they hit you. After this pile, head into the tunnel and you will find 2 more rock walls. These are quite difficult to break. The next two are quite similar but these will have rolling boulders as you have faced before.

Stage 3-8
Character: Strongest Kiryu
Time Limit: 2 minutes and 30 seconds
Weapons: None
Enemies: 2 enemies with 4 bars of hp
Location: Arena
Condition: Defeat all enemies using only heat actions and without repeating any heat actions; the heat bar will be full all the time.

Tips
This may sound hard as you will have to kill the enemy in the heat mode – he will only get damaged by your heat actions and you can’t use the same heat action twice. So grab the first opponent and press the T button so you will smash his head to the ground. Now grab the 2nd opponent and take him towards the chained walls and perform a chain-linked wall heat action on that guy.

Now the first opponent will be back on foot, grab him and get him near the 2nd opponent and perform a head smashing heat action so you damage both of them. Now wait until the first one stands up and when he does grab him and throw him. After that just perform a heat action and he will no more cause any trouble.

Now perform a cigarette heat action on the second guy, after this he will just need one more heat action to die.

Stage 3-9
Character: Strongest Akiyama
Time Limit: None
Weapons: None
Enemies: 3 black enemies, 1 yellow, 1 red, and 1 blue enemy
Location: Nakamichi
Condition: Defeat all enemies in the order of red-blue-yellow; you cannot defeat any black enemies.

Tips
Make sure you don’t touch the black enemies as a single kick will just kill them because they have a very low hp. Go for the yellow one in the last. Just throw the enemies and perform heat ground actions. There is no need to hurry as there is no time limit. Take your time and defeat the enemies in the right order. Don’t perform any combo attacks that may cause damage to the black ones too.

Stage 3-10
Character: Strongest Tanimura
Time Limit: None
Weapons: None
Enemies: 4 enemies with 2 bars of hp each
Location: Tenkaichi
Condition: Arrest all the enemies

Tips
Tanimura has the ability to arrest enemies and make them of no use, this doesn’t work on bosses and only works on stunned and writhing enemies. So what you have to do is to beat up an enemy a little more that one of his health bar finishes. After that he will start writhing in pain so you can perform a heat action on them.

Don’t perform a lot of combo attacks and refrain from blind buttons as it will result in killing the enemy but you have to arrest all four. Pressing X+T also stuns the enemies sometimes so you can easily arrest them, but you can always use the above trick.

Chase

Stage 4-1
Character: Strongest Akiyama
Time Limit: 30 seconds
Weapons: None
Enemies: None
Location: Going South on Tenkaichi
Condition: Race to the finish without tripping over any trash cans.

Tips
This is not really a chasing mission. What you have to do is go to the end point without touching any trash can. And there is no need to hurry, the time is enough and you barely need to hurry. Most of the trash cans can be avoided. There are only three trash cans which you will have to jump through.

Stage 4-2
Character: Strongest Akiyama
Time Limit: 1 minute
Weapons: None (beer bottles for pick up)
Enemy: Super Saigou
Location: Theater square
Condition: Catch Super Saigou; tackles deal no damage

Tips
What you have to do is catch Saigou, he will keep on running and you will have to throw bottles at him. The area you will follow him is full of littered bottles and you will be able to easily pick them up on your trail. Don’t throw a bottle when he is turning because most of them will miss. You will need like 9 hits to take him down.

Stage 4-3
Character: Strongest Saejima
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemy: A ton of Kappa
Location: Going East on Shichifuku
Condition: Race to the finish

Tips
You have a limited time and a limited stamina, what you have to do is race to the finish before the time ends. You can easily jump over the first two Kappas and then follow the route. Later on 4 kappas will be on your tail who will be much faster then your own speed. So what you will have to do is keep tapping the S button to avoid their tackles. You can just keep pressing S and reach the finish by this way, but it will take a little more time and is very boring.

Stage 4-4
Character: Strongest Tanimura
Time Limit: None
Weapons: A Pistol
Enemy: Super Sugiuichi (He’s on a boat!)
Location: At Sea
Condition: Catch Super Sugiuchi; your boat will keep losing fuel.

Tips
This is another annoying mission. What you have to do is just same like what you did in the story mode, follow Sugiuichi on the boat whereas your boat will keep losing the fuel. But what changed is that he will be more faster. So what you have to do is ram his boat and make him lose all the fuel. You will also have to shoot him, your character will make a sound of ching” so whenever he does press the T button to shoot, make sure you shoot repeatedly which will cause the fuel to drop faster.

The main part is to ram him on different opportunities. The best opportunity you will get is when Sugiuichi will try to go through the first 3 ships. He will pass through the ships and when you will cross the first two ships, he will turn on the right side. Don’t go towards the right side as he will turn left again to go through the other set of ships. Make sure you hit him as hard as you can. Just keep on hitting him in the similar way and predict his next moves, make sure you don’t forget about the shooting.

Stage 4-5
Character: Strongest Kiryu
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Weapons: None (pick up beer bottles x 3) (one in front of ‘Shine’ at Pink Street, one situated right where you turn right onto Senryou, and one at the exit of the Kamuchika)
Enemy: Super Mack
Location: Various, Southeastern Kamuro
Condition: Catch Super Mack

Tips
The route is quite difficult. You will start from the southern end of Nakamichi, run towards the North. Take the 2nd turn on the right side towards the alleyways. Take the first left turn after it. Ignore the first turn which comes on the left side and keep following the road towards the right side. Then turn left and you will be in the main alleyway.

Keep following it towards the Pink street. Turn left and run north. Go to the road between Pink Street and Senryou and then turn right again at Senryou. Turn right onto Shouwa and follow the road until you see the underground entrance. Go in to the entrance and go towards Nakamichi, take the right exit and now you will be at Shouwa. Look towards east and turn right at Nakamichi.

What you have to do is master his routes and turn perfectly. Follow him and you will find beer bottles on your way, pick them up and throw them at him – only when both of you are running straight, because once any of you will be turning then most probably the bottle will not hit. You can pick up the same bottle thrice. You will get like 3 different bottles and you only need to hit him six times.

Ultimate Challenges

The ultimate challenges are quite similar to the duel challenges. But this time you will have to fight multiple enemies and your health bar won’t increase itself most of the time.

Stage 5-1
Character: Strongest Akiyama
Time Limit: 5 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: Ihara, Midorigawa, and Minami (with 1 bar, 1 bar, and 2 bars of hp respectively)
Location: Cabaret Club, Underground Safehouse, and Elise
Condition: Defeat all of the bosses without health regeneration.

Tips
In the first four ultimate challenges you will have to defeat 3 bosses each and your health will not increase. It may sound hard but it isn’t. In this challenge you will have to defeat Thara, the first boss of the game. You can easily defeat him with several kicks and punches. The second boss will be Midorigawa, you can easily throw him whenever he will miss his chain-saw attempt to hit you. The third boss is Minami, you can defeat him the same way as you did in the Challenge 2-1.

Stage 5-2
Character: Strongest Saejima
Time Limit: 5 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: Saitou + 5 goons, Kiryu, Majima (~1.5 bar, 2 bars, and 2 bars of hp respectively)
Location: Prison Field, Okinawa Beach, Batting Center
Condition: Defeat all the bosses without health regeneration.

Tips
In this challenge you will have to face 5 goons and Saitou altogether. So what you should do is first kill the goon who is armed, take his gun and shoot the rest of the goons as the ammunition will be enough to take the others out. Saitou is an easy boss, you can always hit him with the combo Sx3T(hold)x3. And then you could follow it up with a bunch of other combos to get him out of the game.

Kiryu is an easy character too. Throw works on him so you could just set him up for your heat actions. He will guard a lot but you can also guard his combos and perform your own combos instead. He is fast in his heat mode though, but you can always hit him with your combos. The fight with Majima is explained in the challenge 2-2.

Stage 5-3
Character: Strongest Tanimura
Time Limit: 7 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: 1 miniboss with gun + 1 miniboss with sword + 3 lackeys, 1 enemy with sword + 1 enemy with dagger + 1 boxing enemy, Sugiuchi
Location: Docks,Roof,Docks

Tips
In this challenge Tanimura will have to fight multiple of bosses together. They are not as good as the main bosses but they have a large HP bar. The first fight will have two armed mini bosses and 3 lackeys. And as recommended before, you should take out the one who is armed with a gun and then pickup the gun to kill the other enemies.

Make sure you don’t get surrounded and press the L1 button to dodge the bullets while you are killing him. You can take out all of them by your combos. Make sure you follow every combo with combo heat actions otherwise you won’t do much damage and also end up being surrounded. The sword mini-boss can be avoided by pressing the L1 button whenever he gets close to you.

The second battle also consists of multiple enemies. But this time you will be holding an attaché case instead of your simple attacks. You will be able to do more damage by the attaché. The challenge will start with an enemy holding a dagger on your back and the other two in front of you. Attack the boxer in the end and take down the other two first.

You can simply attack them by S combos. Always counter-attack the boxer as you won’t be able to hit him much if you will deliver straight combos. You can also do heat actions with the attaché case in hand. Sugiuchi fight is explained in 2-3.

Stage 5-4
Character: Strongest Kiryu
Time Limit: 6 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: Ivan Ibrahimovic, KurokawaHannya, Yamaoka Akira
Location: Arena
Condition: Defeat all bosses without health regeneration

Tips
This is a tough stage. You will have to fight the best bosses of the game and you should not make a single mistake in it. Ivan is a very difficult opponent, he is fast and his combos are chained together and can cause a lot of damage. He is very strong and there is nothing you can do against him. You can’t throw or knock him down. He dodges very quickly and counters your hits.

Most of his counters will stun you and you will have to get out of it by repeatedly pressing X. So what you have to do is slowly attack him. Hit him whenever you get the chance, there is no need to hurry. There will be times when he will be vulnerable to full Sx3Tx2 combos. So try to combo him and if it doesn’t work then just guard and then parry(L1+T).

Dodge his attack and try to get on his back, hit him from the back side. You can also hit him a little and then trick him (R1+T) from his counter-attacks but this needs a lot of luck and great timing. He won’t be able to hit you much if you guard parry repeatedly. This will be a long fight and you should stay calm!

Kurokawa is a very strange fighter. His style is more like the Karate one. His attacks are very powerful. But he can be defeated easily as he can be thrown and can be knocked down too. His combo attacks are also very powerful, he can also hit combos attack while he is blocking your hits, so be careful.

He also goes into another odd pose. Don’t attack him when he does that or it will just result in you getting thrown. In such a situation the Tiger Drop works. Sx3Tx2 combos also works on him, just treat him like a simple enemy who has more HP and can do the dodging.

Akira is the mixture of the other two. He is strong and fast. His combos are all chained. He will dodge you a lot and reply with a stunning attack. After stunning, he will mostly perform a simple combo or try to throw you, so you must save heat actions for countering his throw.

The trick of Ivan works here too, try to hit him up with a full combo and if you miss then just dodge and guard parry. It will be difficult to hit him from the front so try to dodge and hit him from the back or the sides.

Stage 5-5
Character: Strongest Heroes
Time Limit: 16 minutes
Weapons: None
Enemies: Ihara, Midorigawa, Minami, Saitou, Kiryu, Majima, 5 enemies, 4 enemies, Suciuchi, Ivan, Kurokawa, Akira, Komaki
Location: Various
Condition: Defeat all bosses; you get healed for 1/4 of your total hp after each fight.

Tips
This is the final showdown. More or less, this is the sum of all the Ultimate Challenges that you have done so far. But, there is one good and some bad news. The good news is that you have defeated all the bosses before so with the experience and skill that you have gained, you should be able to take them out again quite easily.

However, this time the total time you will get is 16 minutes which is 7 minutes less than the time for all previous ones (5-1 to 5-4) added together. This simply means that you should hurry or you’ll run out of time and fail the challenge. You will have a total of 80 seconds for each boss that you face and you should try to start saving time from the start so that you finish comfortably.

The second bad news is: Komaki. Now, experienced Yakuza players are probably well aware of how Komaki can be a pain. But what they do not know yet is that you no longer face the same komaki. This is a more aggressive version of him who no longer waits for you to throw the first punch. He will be on the offensive and the key to your success lies in his aggressive stance.

Guard parrying (L1+T) will do the trick for you. Get him into a corner and guard parry, then throw a Sx3Tx2 combo and quickly get back to guard parry. Simple enough? No. If by any chance he’s able to dodge to your side, you are in trouble my friend. He’ll pull you through an endless chain of combos that you cannot do much about. You also need to keep an eye on him trough out the whole encounter because sometimes instead of trying to penetrate your block he might just grab you and throw you quickly.

However, the RIGHT way of defeating komaki, as the developers might have anticipated is through the komaki parry. He may be aggressive, but he’s still reactive to your actions. Hit a punch, then after a split second get into a komaki parry (R1+O) as he approaches for a palm attack. If you have saved enough heat from the previous encounters you might just be in a position for a Dragon king heat and then a rolling heat action to conclude the victory.
