Microsoft’s Black Friday sale has come to an end and the company has shared initial results for the Xbox One sales and the performance of XBLA during the sale.
Xbox marketing executive Mike Nichols told Gamespot that the demand for Xbox hardware, accessories, and games was very “Strong” and Xbox Live engagement during this period was also strong.
However, Microsoft did not share any specific details about the unit sales for Xbox console or hardware sales and also nothing concrete was revealed about the XBL performance.
Recently, Microsoft announced that it will be launching a new app that will allow Oculus Rift owners to stream their Xbox One games to their headsets. The app will be absolutely free and will be available in December.
The new Xbox One Streaming to Oculus Rift app connects to your Xbox One via your home network. Once connected, your console’s video output is streamed to your Rift headset and projected onto a massive screen in your choice of one of three immersive VR environments: “Citadel,” “Retreat” and “Dome”.
The next console from Microsoft will be Xbox One Scorpio that will launch in Holiday 2017, and many analysts have warned Microsoft that it would not be wise for them if the price of the console is not right.
However, Phil Spencer has said that Xbox One Scorpio will be priced higher than Xbox One S.
Scorpio will be a premium console, it will obviously cost more than the S, and that’s how we’re building it. We haven’t announced anything about Scorpio’s price yet, but I want to make sure that the investments that we are putting into this console meet the demands of the higher end customer, and that will mean a higher price.
