Things are looking good for Microsoft since the launch of Xbox One S, as the console managed to outperform PS4 three month is a row in United Sates. Also, sales for Xbox One S are strong outside of the US, at least in Australia.
According to NPD Group sales data, Xbox One S has been the best selling console in Australia ever since its launch in August. The period spans from August 1 to October 30. According to the data, Xbox One S has also been the highest selling 4K Blu-Ray player in Australia.
According to the report, Forza Horizon 3 has been the best-selling game of 2016, and the global engagement on Xbox Live has increased 57 percent year-on-year. Jeremy Hinton, Xbox Business Lead at Microsoft Australia, thanked the Australian fans in a press release.
We’d like to thank our fans for their continued support and passion for Xbox in Australia, It’s great to see such enthusiasm for the new Xbox One S & Forza Horizon 3, as well as the range of exclusive bundles including Gears of War 4, Battlefield 1, FIFA 17, and Minecraft – all of which are available now.
The next upcoming console from Microsoft is Xbox One Scorpio, which launches in Holiday 2017, and it will be the direct competitor for PS4 Pro. Industry analysts are convinced that Xbox One Scorpio has beaten PS4 Pro in the battle of specs, but also noted that price is the only factor that could destroy it.
Similarly, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter has also noted that it would be suicide for Microsoft if the price for Xbox One Scorpio exceeds $399. He further noted that even if it is priced at $399, then might still face problems as Sony will discount the PS4 Pro by then.
Do you think Microsoft will be able to keep the lead after the launch of PlayStation 4 Pro? Let us know in the comments.
