We have some great news for wrestling fans as a document containing several details about WWE 2k20 including gameplay, release date, and the cover star was recently discovered online. The leaked document reveals that WWE 2k20 will release in the second week of October like the previous entries in WWE 2K franchise. Since there’s no official confirmation, it should be treated as a rumor for the time being.
This year’s iteration of WWE 2K by Yuke’s and Visual Concepts will be announced on June 24 according to the leak. Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition owners of WWE 2K20 will get to play the game earlier on October 1 compared to standard edition owners who will have to wait until October 5.
The game’s pre-order bonus character for this year is none other than the legendary wrestler Chyna. Chyna was recently announced to be a part of WWE Hall of Fame. She made her debut in WWE as a part of D-Generation X. The document also reveals that the players will able to relive the journey of DX faction this year.
As for the question who’s going to be the cover star on WWE 2K20, It’s “The Man (that’s what they call her)” Becky Lynch according to the leak. This is possible since Lynch recently defeated Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in a winner takes it all match at Wrestlemania 35 main event, winning both the Smackdown Women’s Championship title and Raw Women’s Championship title.
Another interesting tidbit to take out the document is the return of General Manager (GM Mode) in WWE 2K20. It’s something the fans of wrestling games are familiar with. In this mode, players have the ability to manage Raw, Smackdown, and NXT brands, compete with superstars on other brands, etc. Players will know more about this GM manager mode on August 7 with a trailer.
As we said before, there’s no confirmation yet so it remains to be seen if the leak is real or not. Real or not, we can expect to hear about WWE 2K20 in June before or during E3 2019.
There’s no mention of release platforms in the leaked document, However, we can expect WWE 2K20 to release on Microsoft’s Xbox One, PC and Sony’s PlayStation 4. Nintendo Switch version of the game seems very unlikely to happen this year because WWE 2K19 had a very hard time running on the portable console.
