Error 0x80042405 Fix
The error 0x80042405 is related to the USB not being able to write data. This error pops up while users are downloading the Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft or simply using the Media creation tool. Users have reported that they have been getting the error with the message:
There was a problem running this tool. We’re not sure what happened, but we’re unable to run this tool on your PC. If you continue experiencing problems, reference the error code when contacting customer support. Error code: 0x80042405-0xA001A.
Format USB Before Using Media Creation Tool
The fix for this problem is quite simple. The first solution to this problem is to format the USB before using it for Media Creation Tool.
The reason why you need to do this is that the Media Creation Tool itself formats the USB as part of the process but sometimes it is unable to do so and gives the Error 0x80042405. Just format the USB beforehand either in FAT 32 format or NTFS format and the error should stop popping up.
It is important to note that before you format the USB, copy important data from the USB as formatting it will delete everything.
Disable Antivirus
If the above solution doesn’t work for you then your antivirus might be the culprit behind the Error 0x80042405. You can try disabling the antivirus temporarily for the duration of Media Creation Tool downloading the ISO this should fix the issue.
If disabling the antivirus doesn’t work for you then you can try uninstalling the antivirus and reboot the system.
You Need Admin Access
If the above solutions don’t work for you then you can try running the Media Creation Tool as an administrator meaning your Windows 10 account might need administrator privileges.
Go to the settings and select “Accounts, Family & other people” and then select ‘add someone else to this PC’. Enter username and password and go to Family & other people and select “Change account type”.
Select account type and then select Administrator and press OK. This will give you Windows 10 account admin privileges and will resolve the issue.
Error 0xc1900200 Fix
The Error 0xc1900200 pops up during downloading or installing a feature Windows 10 update or reinstalling the OS. While it is appreciated that Windows 10 notifies us of the issue but it doesn’t tell enough for users to sort out this issue.
This error doesn’t usually pops up and will not even show up in the Event Viewer. The error usually tells you that Microsoft can’t install important security updates on your PC.
The cause of the error is an incomplete error and the error usually tells you that you need to update your BIOS. Update your BIOS and see if this fixes your issue.
If it doesn’t fix the issue then you need to identify the program that is incomplete and is causing the 0xc1900200 error to pop up. Follow the following step:
- Go to ‘C:$WINDOWS.~BTSourcesPanther’.
- Open ‘APPRAISER_HumanReadable.xml’. The latest one.
- Under ‘Asset’ look for ‘‘LowerCaseLongPath’.
Opening the ‘LowerCaseLongPath’ will reveal a path to the program that is causing the issue. Uninstall the program and the issue should resolve.
Reset Windows Update
If all of the above fails to resolve the issue then there is something else you can try. You need to reset the Windows update which is likely to resolve the issue.
You need to run a series of commands in the CMD but before that disable your antivirus temporarily for the duration of the process and open CMD as administrator. Run following commands on by one and hit enter after typing every command and give them time to run before you type the next one.

- net stop bits
- net stop msiserver
- Ren C:WindowsSoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
- Ren C:WindowsSystem32catroot2 Catroot2.old
- net start wuauserv
- net start cryptSvc

Error 0xc1900200 Fix
The error 0xc1900200 usually pops up while updating Windows 10 from a previous version of Windows or installing a feature update like Aril 2018 Update.
This error is caused by Windows not having sufficient resources to carry out the task which can be caused by a number of things.
Reset Windows Update
The error 0xc1900200 can be fixed by resetting the Windows update in the case of the error popping up while installing a feature update. You need to run following commands in the CMD.

Error 0x800f09 Fix
The 0x800f09 error is related to .Net Framework and pops up when the installation of .NET Framework is intrupted. To fix this issues, the first thing you can try is by manually downloading the .NET Framework and install it.
You can also fix this issue by downloading Microsoft Visual C++ both x86 version and x64 version and installing it.
The Error 0x800f09 also pops up during Windows update. To bypass this error you can try download the update manually that is causing the problem.
Go to settings and click of Update & security. Note the the code for the update that caused this problem and go to Windows Catalog site and look for the update that failed.
Download the update and install it manually which would esolve your issue all together. If this doesn’t work then you can try resetting Windows update for which the steps are explained above.
