Injustice 2 has received some new gameplay footage that is one hour long. It features some of the most loved DC characters like Batman, Superman, The Flash, Supergirl, Aquaman and others.
The footage begins with an intense battle between Supergirl and Batman which I have to say, doesn’t end well for The Dark Knight. Check out the entire gameplay video above.
Injustice 2 will also feature Wonder Woman who is being added in celebration of her 75th anniversary as a DC character.
Not only that, but Netherrealm has 10 DLC characters planned for the new Injustice game. The developers will continue the DLC character tradition of last year’s Mortal Kombat X.
One of the things we’ve been doing, trying to do more and more with every game… is to support it for a longer period of time. With DLC characters, we’ve had four with Mortal Kombat, six with Injustice, eight with Mortal Kombat X, and with Injustice 2 we plan on continuing that pattern. It will certainly be more aggressive than we’ve been in the past.
Players will also be able to customize their characters in Injustice 2 via the Gear Unlocking system. The point of this system is to provide longevity and ongoing molding of your character. Ed Boon confirmed that he is considering a pay to unlock system that will allow quick access to customization items to those who don’t like to wait. Of course, you will be able to unlock items via in-game progression.
More features of the new game will be shared in the coming weeks and months. However, if you were hoping for a Mortal Kombat like fatality system, Ed Boon has confirmed such a feature won’t be in Injustice.
Netherrealm is yet to announce a release date for the new game but expect it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
