According to Mohammad Alavi, he was excited about the handheld but don’t see Titanfall 2 on Nintendo Switch. The handheld is underpowered and Nintendo machines have been underpowered overall for a long time. Developers prefer working on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC.
Mohammad Alavi: …I was excited about it. Nintendo’s been in such a niche market recently, catering to the handheld and the kids, they’ve been so underpowered that they don’t have the support of the third parties because they’re all making for the PC, Xbox One and PS4, and it’s no different.
Micha: I am going to drink to it mainly because, I understand. It will be underpowered. I’m not going to be able to play Titanfall on it. Like, can you tell me?
Mohammad: Fuck no! No, you’re not going to be able to fit Titanfall 2 on the Nintendo Switch. That’s the same Zelda from the Wii U?
Nintendo has a decent number of partnerships with a massive list of developers but most aren’t bringing their AAA titles to the machine just yet. It seems publishers are testing waters with remasters and smaller IPs before taking out the big guns. Some of the developers/publishers working on Nintendo Switch includes EA, Ubisoft, Activision, 505 Games and more.
Nintendo Switch is releasing on March 3rd for $299. Pre-orders are live but the console is already sold out at major retailers. However, Nintendo has promised a steady supply of units.
