There Are No Plans for a DriveClub Sequel, Shuehi Yoshida Confirms

According to Sony Worldwide Studios, there are currently no plans to continue DriveClub as a series.

Despite the fact that DriveClub faced hiccups at launch with bad servers, the game managed to sell about 2.0 million copies worldwide.

Speaking with EuroGamer; Sony Worldwide Studios’ boss, Shuhei Yoshida, said that the driving genre is very difficult and the team needs great angle for the series to continue:

The driving genre’s a very difficult market right now. The team, we need to find a great angle for the racing to continue, to come up with a new racing game, if we’re to look at another racing title. Creative ideas come when things are tough, so that lightbulb moment, I’m looking forward to.

With games like Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One, do you think Sony needs a good exclusive racer in its games list? Let us know in the comments section below!

DriveClub is now available exclusively on the Playstation 4.
