Naughty Dog is currently not only putting the final touches on The Last of Us Part 2 but also busy preparing for a massive reveal in the coming weeks. PAX East will be where the developer unleashes an hour-long playable demo but for now, a clip has surfaced online, assumed to have been taken from that very gameplay demo.

Posted on Twitter earlier today, the seconds-long footage shows how Ellie will be customizing weapons in the highly anticipated sequel. The Last of Us Part 2 will have several mods to choose from such as increased magazine capacity, increased damage, increased stability, reduced recoil, and higher magnification.

Much like the original, Ellie will require parts to upgrade her weapons but do notice the attention to detail. Naughty Dog has invested quite a few resources to create slick animations as Ellie switches and handles each weapon while customizing them on the bench.

Those interested in attending PAX East should note that The Last of Us Part 2 demo will only be available from February 27 to March 1. The gameplay will eventually be uploaded online if not streamed live. Based on information available, the demo will take players roughly the first hour of campaign as Ellie and her girlfriend Dina travel through the streets of a post-apocalyptic Jackson, Mississippi, to eliminate the Infected.

Those still waiting to pre-order a copy of The Last of Us Part 2 must wait a bit longer. Naughty Dog will allow participating retailers to start taking pre-orders from March 13 onwards. As for the game itself, The Last of Us Part 2 will release on May 29 exclusively for PlayStation 4. This is the new delayed release date. The highly anticipated sequel was previously tagged to release this very month.

Going back, a lot of fans were gutted to know that Naughty Dog was dropping the Factions mode from The Last of Us Part 2. The online component was warmly received in the original installment and many were hoping to see it return in the sequel. Based on requests and feedback, Naughty Dog eventually promised that the Factions mode would not be forgotten. However, making it available day-one on The Last of Us Part 2 carried a big if.

The situation then took a new turn. Reportedly, Naughty Dog started considering to enhance the Factions mode into something bigger and release it as a standalone package for PlayStation 5. The report further cemented the belief that The Last of Us Part 2 would release without any multiplayer.
