Just one day remains before The Last Guardian launches and Team Ico has already released two The Last Guardian day-one-patches.

A second patch, update 1.02 , has also been released which is considerably smaller weighing 174.2 MB which provides minor improvements and bug fixes. Both Of these The Last Guardian day-one-patches will be available at the game’s launch.
Another interesting thing is that the size of these patches is very reasonable compared to day-one-patches released these days, as Final Fantasy XV received a whopping 7-8 GB day-one-patch.
The Last Guardian took 8 years to be developed and still there is quite some hype for the game in the community. So, it comes as no surprise that the pre-orders for the game have exceeded the Sony’s expectations. According to Sony’s product manager Joe Palmer:
I can’t comment on specific details, but I can say that pre-orders for The Last Guardian are exceeding expectations. We’ve seen a really positive response to the Collector’s Edition in particular, which despite its higher price point proves there’s a huge appetite for the game.
Also, the file size for the game has also been revealed. The game requires a minimum of 15 Gb of hard drive space. The game might also not support PlayStation 4 Pro at launch, as the game’s physical copy does not mention it.
The Last Guardian is an action-adventure game developed by Team ICO and will launch on December 6, 2016, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
