The Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Demo Was Running On A PC Setup, Here Are The Specs

The specs for the PC that ran the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo at E3 2018 were confirmed as we approach Gamescom later this year.

It’s pretty common with games that aren’t console exclusives to be tested and demo-run on a PC setup. Cyberpunk 2077 is no exception and the gameplay demo at last year’s E3 was, in fact, a PC run gameplay demo.

The PC that ran last year’s Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo featured an i7-8700K (3.7 GHz) processor and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. It’s a fairly beefy setup but not the most powerful one out there. It ran the gameplay demo without any issue, however. If you would rather see it, here’s the 48-minute gameplay showcased last year:

While E3 2019 only showcased a cinematic trailer, another preview of a newer Cyberpunk 2077 build is planned for Gamescom later this year. It’ll most likely be the last one before Cyberpunk officially releases in April next year.

Now we know that the game won’t be very heavy on the processing power of your computer due to CD Projekt Red prioritizing optimization for its PC users as they’ve done the same in the past with games like the Witcher 3.

The Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo at last year’s E3 showcased the character customization, Night city itself and the RPG elements of the game. An extensive look at the combat features and varying degrees of it was also shown with a smooth framerate and no bugs/other issues throughout.

It was an early build of the game. Hopefully, with the Gamescom demo, we can expect later retains and improves upon the quality of the former as well.

The Cyberpunk 2077 release date is set for April 16, 2020, so you can count on the game not being a next-gen exclusive. CD Projekt Red hasn’t announced any plans of a Cyberpunk 2077 playable demo for the rest of the world but things could change. Most of the major games in recent memory have had either a demo or some sort of beta release.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases in May 2020 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
