Tekken 7 Bryan Strategy Guide
Playing as Bryan
Bryan in Tekken 7 has plenty of options to keep his opponent at an arm’s length in addition to ranged CH launchers. For opponents who have an aggressive playstyle, he has a backsway executed by qcb. He also has a couple of CH and safe mid-launchers with decent range. At close range, he has a few low attacks, a quick CH mid-launcher that is neutral on block, jab strings, and more.
However, you cannot just pick him up and expect to perform well. He has a steep learning curve and require hours and hours of practice. In pro plays, his Taunt Jet Upper is incredibly fearsome as it allows him to land an unblockable taunt quickly followed-up with a guaranteed launcher. Nevertheless, as I mentioned earlier, pulling his Taunt Jet Upper is difficult and requires a ton of practice.
If you wish to learn more about Bryan, I recommend watching the Korean player named Knee who is a remarkable Bryan player and play him at the highest level. You should also be able to find plenty of YouTube tutorials on his Taunt Jet Upper to perfect it! In my opinion, if played to his strengths, he has very few weaknesses that include average standing punishes.
Coming to his combo potential, his standard launcher is u/f + 4. As a starter BnB combo, try u/f + 4, d/b + 2, 1, 2, 4, Screw!, b + 3 ~ f + 2, 1. You need to make sure to tap the stick forward immediately after the b + 3 in order to dash forward. If you need a slightly more damaging combo, try u/f + 4, d/b + 2, 1, f, f + 4, Screw!, b + 3 ~ f + 2, 1. Although this combo deals slightly more damage, it is tough to connect the f, f + 4 after the jab.
If you manage to carry an opponent to the wall, I personally like to use d + 3, 2 because it is easier to execute and rarely misses. However, depending on the positioning of the opponent, you can also go with 3, 2, 1, 2. As I mentioned earlier, the second wall combo needs optimal positioning of the opponent and does not hit.
Overall, Bryan is an incredibly tough character to master. However, once you get a hang of his attacks, try to take advantage of his strong homing attacks, insane combo damage, strong CHs, and damaging punishment attacks. Even if you do not have an aggressive playstyle, you should benefit from playing him because of his superior space control and whiff punishments.
