Retailer Walmart listed the Wii U Super Smash Bros Wii U Amiibo Starter Bundle priced at $99.99 was listed on Walmart website. The bundle includes a copy of the game and three Amiibo figurines including Mario, Link and Pikachu.
The figurines were announced back at Nintendo’s Digital E3 presentation where the first set of these interactive figurines were revealed. And Super Smash Bros will be the first Wii U title with complete integration of these Amiibo Figurines. Each figure will cost $12.99.
Super Smash Bros is priced at $59.99 and as I mentioned above, each figure costs $12.99. According to the listed (which is now removed) the bundle contained 3 figures so if add all that up, the total will $98.96, a $1.03 less than the suggested retail price of this bundle.
The Amiibo Figurines can be used in order to store game data and states and if you touch your Wii U GamePad’s NFC touch point with the figure while playing certain games, data on the chip will be transferred into the game and used in a variety of ways.
It is not surprising as leaks like this happen every now and then by retailers but until we hear something official, this can be considered as a mistake as well.
You can check out the Walmart pre-order page for this bundle here. We will let you know as soon as the story develops.
