Street Fighter V will hit stores in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PC. The game will get plenty of DLC after its release on both platforms, and thankfully, no DLC will be on-disk like it was on Street Fighter X Tekken.
Capcom confirmed this during Tokyo Game Show.
Back when Street Fighter X Tekken was released, Capcom decided to put DLC on disk and charged users for unlocking it later on. Naturally, fans weren’t happy about it and Capcom had to explain their decision.
According to Capcom, they wanted to insure that instead of a large download file, users get a small unlock that’ll give them access to the content.
The character information and files were intentionally included on retail versions of the PS3 and Xbox 360 game to save hard drive space and to ensure for a smooth transition when the DLC is available, allowing players who choose not to purchase the content the ability to play against players that did.
I have mixed feelings about this because at one hand it makes sense but on the other hand I don’t want this practice to be widespread.
