There are a lot of Starcraft fans out there, but most of them agree that there should have been a co-op mode in the game’s campaign. If you are one of those, your wish has come true through the Starcraft co-op campaign mod.
Previously, the only way you could play any kind of co-operative game in Starcraft was through team multiplayer matches. You couldn’t do anything but swap keyboards and take turns at the game. This changes now.
The Starcraft co-op campaign mod brings in cooperative gameplay elements to every part of the game in a way that ‘every single mission from start to end is cooperative, even if you lose all of your unit’s the other player still has a chance to get victory for the both of you though unlikely.’
Moreover, the modders explained that some of the missions will be tougher than the others when it comes to playing co-operatively. This is so, according to them, because of the fact that your and your friends’ bases will be placed on the opposite ends of the map.
You will have to come across the whole map to get together, or fight your way from either side until you finally reach the rendezvous point. From where I can see it, this kind of a co-op will add a greater element of challenge to the game.
This is not the only aspect that the modders have added to the game through the Starcraft co-op campaign mod; they also gave a list of areas that have been touched by them:
- Cooperative Gameplay,
- Dynamic Gameplay
- Increased Difficulty
- Fully Scripted Dialogue
- AI Balancing
- AI Scripting Improved
- Shared Units 50/50 for non-base missions
