Earlier this month Spyro Reinginited Trilogy was announced for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and fans of the franchise are excited to see the game being remastered, however, the creator of Spyro is disappointed for not recognizing his work on the games.
Speaking with YouTuber, Game Brain, Spyro the Dragon’s creator, character artist Charles Zembillas revealed that he has no involvement in Spyro Reinginited Trilogy and added that he was “disappointed” because he wasn’t informed about the upcoming remasters.
He further revealed that the reason why he is disappointed is that Activision used a sketch of his from the original Spyro the Dragon project and feels that Spyro Reinginited Trilogy is basically the reflection of what he meant the title to be when drew the sketches for the game.
Spyro Reignited trilogy only focuses on the original three games and the upcoming trilogy is being developed by Skylanders creators “Toys For Bob” and the from the looks of it the studio has done a great job remastering the games.
Also, Spyro’s original voice actor, Tom Kenny, is reprising his role in the game and the soundtrack for the remastered version will also be a remastered version of Stewart Copeland’s original.
Spyro games are one of the most distinct early platformers and holds a place alongside the likes of Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, and Banjo Kazooie. These game feature Spyro The Dragon as the main protagonist.
Once again, the Spyro Reignited trilogy will be coming to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on September 21, 2018, and is priced at $39.99
