Sony Santa Monica, the creator of God of War games, is currently working on a VR title for PlayStation VR. According to an insider report, the studio is busy developing a “full blown” VR game for Sony’s head mounted display.
Sony Santa Monica is known for its work on God of War series and is one of the most renowned developers around. The studio will be at E3 2017 with its new God of War game but as we now know, it might be bringing more than just God of War.
This new VR game from Sony Santa Monica is being revealed soon, insider claims. The report comes from one of the developers who choose to remain unnamed.
There’s been a number of projects brought to [Sony] Santa Monica, but many of them have just been prototypes from game jams. [sic] [Sony] Santa Monica are working on something big. It’s a full-blown 2nd wave title for [PlayStation VR]. It’ll be revealed soon and I know it’ll go well with the core PlayStation audience, but I can’t say any more than that!
PlayStation VR released a few months ago and many big names are working on it. Star Wars Battlefront 2 will have a VR mode and Codemasters is working on a VR DiRT game as well. The number of developers working on PlayStation VR is expected to rise. PlayStation VR sales are predicted to go past Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
