Sega has been quite active to bring its games to PC for past couple of months like Bayonetta and Vanquish. Now Sega has announced a partnership with Two Point Studios, formed by former Lionhead employees, to develop a new PC sim title.
In a press statement, Two Points Studios expressed its excitement for working with Sega and the studio feels confident that they will be able to develop something special as a result of this partnership. The studio also revealed that the title in development is a simulator and will probably be exclusive to PC.
We are really excited to be working with SEGA and between us we feel confident that we can create something special, and realize our vision of crafting a beautiful, charming and challenging sim game.
Also, Sega is not going to stop there as the company as announced that it will revive its dormant IPs, acquire new IPs and launch games that will be big hits. According to the company, it plans to “continue to create moving experiences” with a vision to be the game changer. The company plans to reach at least 300 billion yen in yearly sales and 30 billion yen in operating income.
The company plans to focus on select titles and launch games to be “big hits” rather than medium hits. Sega intends to focus its investment on promising titles, by reinforcing their promotion. These plans include the company changing its business focus from device-centric to IP-centric.
The acquisition of Crytek Black Sea might be part of the company’s plans for the future. Following the closure the of 5 Crytek studios due to financial problems, Sega was quick to acquire the aforementioned studio and merged it with Creative Assembly.
