Nintendo Switch sure is one of the most successful consoles right now, we can’t help but notice though that something is missing. A new Super Smash Bros title would be a perfect fit for the Switch and, rumor has it, Nintendo might soon give it to us.
With the addition of Mega Man 11, Kirby Star Allies and Metroid Prime 4 to the Nintendo Switch Store later this year, all major Super Smash Bros characters will be officially on the console. What better way to celebrate the occasion than by giving fans a new title for the popular fighting game?
Apparently, there’s a rumor going around that Nintendo already has Super Smash Bros on the radar for Nintendo Switch and will have an official announcement for this year. Emily Rogers has said on ResetEra that a new entry for the franchise will indeed be announced later this year mixing new and old content of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. The post says:
Unfortunately, I don’t have enough information to speculate whether Smash Bros will be branded/marketed as a “deluxe definitive edition port”, a “half-sequel” or a “full sequel”.
I can only confirm two things:
1. A Smash Bros title will be announced and released for Switch later this year.
2. They added brand new content and re-worked some of the existing Wii U/3DS content.
Until then sit back and enjoy some cool Super Smash Bros heroes making their way to Nintendo Switch with their own titles. Kirby Star Allies is coming to the console on March 16th and Mega Man 11 later this year. Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 will also get released on Nintendo Switch on May 22.
Another rumor wants Super Mario Party to be released on Nintendo Switch next year. Is this Nintendo making a huge comeback after being in the shadows for years?
