Talking to WCCFTech about their upcoming game Rime, Tequila Works revealed a lot of new information about their project after staying in the shadows for a while.
The development team, also known for Deadlight, talked about how the PS4 Pro version of Rime would differ from PS4 version as well as what kind of gameplay length can people expect in return for their money considering how a majority of AAA games these days tend to fall around 5-6 hours with a $60 price tag.
According to Tequila Works, a single playthrough of Rime should last for 8 to 10 hours and it could be a bit more if the players go for 100% completion of the game.
While 100% completion isn’t necessary to enjoy the game, according to the development team it does add more layers and improves the understanding of the game’s story so if someone doesn’t manage to fully complete it in one playthrough, another run would be recommended.
The CEO of Tequila Works, Raul Rubio, also mentioned that there are no plans for post launch content for the game.
Talking about the technical aspects, lead programmer Carlos Vasquez said that both the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game will be running at 1080p@30fps while the PS4 Pro version will see a boost of 5-10 frames depending on the game’s area.
While the frame boost doesn’t seem all that great for the 4K capable console, the PS4 Pro version of the game will also benefit from improved visual quality including better shadows, Temporal antialiasing, better texture filtering and more.
Originally intended as a PS4 exclusive, Rime would now be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch in May. The Nintendo Switch version of the game will be developed by Tantalus Media, the developers of Zelda Twilight Princess HD.
