RIME: Tequila Works Explains Nintendo Switch Version Delay

RIME is among the best games that launched this year and has been praised by critics and players alike. The game launched for PC and current gen consoles but, the Nintendo Switch version of RIME will launch in November and developer Tequila Works has explained why the Nintendo Switch version of RIME is six months late.

RIME‘s producer Cody Bradley took it to the game’s development blog and explained the reason for the Nintendo Switch version of RIME being coming out so late. According to Bradley. it is not because that the studio prioritized other platforms first but, the SKU and development kit for Switch was not available in early stages of game’s Development.

He added that the studio did try to make guesses about what the SKU can be and what could be the specs for Switch. But, when it officially came the port didn’t live up to the standards and the studio had to delay the game for Nintendo Switch.

Some of these predictions turned out to be right, and some of them turned out to be wrong. Unfortunately, we didn’t know that they were wrong until work started to “wrap up” earlier this year. The end result was that the port wasn’t living up to our quality standards, and we made the decision to delay the Switch version while we figured out what it would take to get things to where they needed to be.

Speaking of third-party titles on Nintendo Switch, EA has teased that it will bring more of its titles to Switch if there is a business opportunity in the console and given the success of Switch, we might be seeing more EA titles on Switch.

RIME is an action-adventure puzzle video game developed by Tequila Works for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and will come to Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2017.
