While Titanfall 2 is just a couple of of weeks away from launch, there is already talk of its sequel on the internet. Usually successful games do spawn a sequel, but according to Respawn Entertainment, Titanfall 3 might be a possibility but they have not planned it.
Speaking with IGN, founder and CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella, said that the team has not planned any trilogy for the franchise, but they do plan to do more.
We don’t have necessarily a trilogy in mind. You always hope when you create something that it’s embraced and that people will love it for generations to come. I hope we do more of it. We probably plan to do more–as you know, we have the mobile games as well. I would like to see the universe live on. I think it’s very expandable. I think there’s a lot we can do with it. There’s a lot of great ideas floating around here [at Respawn] that I would love to see come to life.
Zampella was also asked if the first Titanfall would come to PlayStation 4, to this he responded that “I believe we are limited in our ability to do that”. He further said that Microsoft was a great partner for the game, as Titnafall would not have existed without them.
Titanfall 2 will also feature a Coliseum mode, whcih lets players go head to head in 1v1 matches. The objective of this mode is to defeat enemy player in a best of three competition. The winner of the round will get Advocate Gifts, which are rare Camos, Callsigns, and more.
Titanfall 2 is a first person shooter in development at Respawn Entertainment, and will release on October 28, 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
