If you are looking forward to the next Resident Evil, it would be better to just pick up Outlast 2. Resident Evil 7 is NOT Resident Evil folks!
Capcom has just released a new video for Resident Evil 7 and for some reason, the studio thought it was a good idea to market the game with hide and seek videos. This game, so far, looks nothing like Resident Evil and we hope to god they haven’t ripped apart this franchise to turn in into Outlast. Where are the zombies? Umbrella Corp? Leon?
It is clearly a hybrid of Outlast and P.T but thankfully, what we see is just a video tape and may not be actual gameplay. Because Resident Evil is not about playing hide and seek with your enemies.
Capcom promised the community that Resident Evil is going back to the roots of survival horror. But at what cost? I would gladly take an action oriented Resident Evil over an Outlast rip-off.
We are hoping to see more of Resident Evil soon and the good news is that it is still using the term “Biohazard.” Meaning there are probably bioweapons included in the game. The demo we saw at E3 and the footage we see hear are being called “teases.” Capcom confirmed that the PS4 demo was not a part of the main game so should we assume that this isn’t part of the final build as well?
We already know that Resident Evil isn’t a ghost story but Capcom has been very vague about zombies which is a littler concerning.
Resident Evil 7 is expected to be at PlayStation Meeting where hopefully, we will see the Resident Evil we all know and love.
Evil comes home with Resident Evil 7 biohazard, available January 24th, 2017 for PlayStation 4 (fully playable in PlayStation VR mode), Xbox One, and Windows PC (Steam and Windows 10 Store).
