Not every area is accessible at the start of the game. In order to do so, you need to find different keys. These keys let you access the otherwise inaccessible areas; allowing you to progress through the game and find different items.

Resident Evil 7 Keys Locations
Scorpion Key Location
In order to find this key, you need to proceed to the Processing Area. This is the area with the meat. Once you are there, head towards the area with the refrigerators and find some meat placed in a green tray.
If you closely notice the green tray, you should be able to find the Scorpion Key sticking out of the meat. With the key at your disposal, you should be able to find the shotgun which is a powerful weapon in the game.
Crow Key Location
In order to find the Crow Key, you need to head over to the first floor of the Old House. Once there, you need to exit the area from the Dining Room and continue forward. This area should lead you to an outhouse with a treasure chest inside.
Yes, you guessed it right! All you need to do is to open up the said treasure chest and find the Crow Key inside.
Snake Key Location
In order to find the Snake Key, you need to survive the Old House and defeat Marguerite. After this, you should receive a call from Zoe Baker, asking you to meet her at her camper in the Yard. However, you will not be able to find her there.
In order to find her, you need to head over to the Dissection Room. You will come across the corpse of a policeman inside. What you basically need to do is to approach the dead body and interact with it in order to find the Snake Key stuck in its throat.
The key basically allows you to access Jacob’s room, allowing you to complete the Hidden Puzzle to get the Stabilizer that increases Ethan’s reload speed.
Dissection Room Key
The Dissection Room Key is basically in the Incinerator Room, Processing Area. What you basically need to do is to open up the only two drawers without any nametag.
Doing so should allow you to open the drawer on the leftmost side. After it opens, a molded will come out of you. It is entirely you call whether to fight it or leave it be. If you decide to leave it be, simply lure it to another area then head back to the drawer and grab the key.
This key is required in order to progress through the game and trigger a boss fight.
