The Last of Us 2 is coming our way this year, according to the official PlayStation Sweden Facebook page. The post mentioned a handful of games releasing this year and the list included The Last of Us 2 aka The Last of Us Part 2.
The Last of Us 2 was announced a couple of years ago and it was only last year that proper reveals were shared. However, we are still to see gameplay footage and there are many speculations about things to come in the story.
Along with The Last of Us, the post mentioned Ghost of Tsushima.
We previously reported that Sony is going to release Ghost of Tsushima this year. Sony’s CES 2018 trailer showed that the game is releasing this year but Sony nor Sucker Punch has mentioned anything of the sort. If these games are releasing this year than we can expect a Fall release window to be announced at E3 2018.
This also falls in line with Sony acquiring the biggest show floor for E3 2018. If the video and now the post from PlayStation Sweden are any indications, The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima could be playable at E3.
However, we should keep our expectations in check as nothing is official for the time being. Even though the post is from an official source, it could be a mistake on their part.
The reason why we personally believe these games are close to releasing (late 2018 – early 2019) is because Sony is done announcing games early. The company made it clear that it won’t be sharing details about any game too early. Sony will only announce games that are going to release within the next year or so. By that logic, The Last of Us Part 2 should out this year.
