Red Dead Redemption Shows Up On Xbox Store, Coming Soon?

An attentive Redditor named ItsNotDylan has spotted a listing for Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox One store. This brings yet another inkling to the possibility of the third-person action-adventure one day being backwards-compatible on the Xbox One.

The game, developed by Rockstar, has been one of the most-requested games to put on the store ever since Backwards Compatibility was first announced. The listing fuels speculation again, could we be getting Red Dead Redemption Xbox One Backwards compatibility? We could or we could not.

The game was spotted on the Xbox One Preview Build Store, where players can preview new builds of games if they opt into the program. Unfortunately, ItsNotDylan’s video, which he posted to the Xbox subreddit, doesn’t show if the game actually works or not. Judging by the comments on the post, it doesn’t.

E3 will be ending today with no appearance from Rockstar and no word about a Grand Theft Auto 6, any downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto 5, and especially no word on Red Dead Redemption 2.

These three milestones have passed the gaming community by at one of the biggest gaming events of the year, despite high anticipation building up from numerous leaks.

Whether that means that a Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming and Rockstar just isn’t ready to reveal it yet, or no Red Dead Redemption 2 is being made right now, remains to be seen.

It’s been six years since the last Red Dead game, the same length of time between when Grand Theft Auto 5 came out after Grand Theft Auto 4. If Rockstar is going to keep to their six-year game gap it’ll have to at least announce something soon.

If they end up not doing it, we’ll probably have to wait at least another year before another Red Dead game is announced, if Rockstar doesn’t do it at some other big convention at some point in the rest of this year. Otherwise, the Wild West will be staying forever out of our reach.
