Red Dead Redemption Unofficial Remake For PC Being Made

Red Dead Redemption has still not had a PC version released, so a group of modders have taken it upon themselves to remake it.

Red Dead Redemption has been out for nearly a decade now. However, an official PC version by Rockstar games has still not been announced and there’s a chance, that it won’t ever be announced. That’s where modders comes in. An unofficial remake is being made by them.

The remaster is called Red Dead Redemption: Damned Enhancement Project. It will be based on the Xenia/RPCS3 versions. This will only be available for PC gamers though.

The aim of the project is not only to remaster but also optimize the game for the PC. This will result in Red Dead Redemption looing and running better, even within the Xenia/RPCS3 emulators.

In essence, the modders want to refine the graphics of the console versions via the Xenia and RPCS3 emulators. This will result in higher quality textures, UI/UX menu elements, and in-game HUD. The team also plans to bring draw optimizations, shader and model updates, and other features.

It’s a pretty interesting concept and since the modders will be improving the game itself, Rockstar Games will not be able to shut it down. After all, this project will require the game itself to run.

In order to showcase the new visuals, the team released its first screenshots that you can find below. As we can clearly see, Red Dead Redemption: Damned Enhancement Project looks absolutely gorgeous.

At this point in time, the modders haven’t confirmed or denied if they will be collaborating with the RPCS3 and Xenia teams in order to improve the game’s performance. From what we’ve seen so far, neither Xenia nor RPCS3 can run Red Dead Redemption at full speed. As such, it will take a while until we play this fan-made remaster. However, it will probably be worth the wait.

The team has also released a reveal trailer for Red Dead Redemption: Damned Enhancement Project that you can find below. Do note, however, that its version is a bit old.
