Rockstar admitted that some players of Red Dead Redemption 2 are facing blurring issue on PS4 Pro and they said this issue will be fixed as they are already working on it. However, the problem is yet to be resolved.
The blurring issue has not been faced by users of Xbox One X. But it is a problem in PS4 Pro and players are disappointed as it gives a headache to users if they play RDR2 for too long.
From the looks of, the problem stems from PS4 Pro’s checkerboard technique. Checkerboarding is a technique used in the graphic to fill gaps with pixels similar to those next to them. It’s the same technique used in PS4 Pro that upscales the game from 1080p to 4K. The method is used is some Xbox One games as well but we haven’t seen reports of a similar issue in Microsoft’s gaming console.
One of the users of PS4 Pro has managed to get a response from Rockstar Support who told them “Yes, we are currently hard at work fixing a few of the issues the community is facing”.
A future update should deal with the problem but for now, the PS4 Pro version suffers from blurriness. It is odd that PlayStation would have such issue as Rockstar and Sony partnered for Red Dead Redemption 2. The game should have been better optimized for the console. In fact, an analysis of the two versions revealed how the game runs extremely better on Xbox One X. The console is able to do native 4K.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PS4 and Xbox One.
