New map for PlayerUnknown’s Battleground named Savage, a 4×4 map is in the making and the testing for the map is going to start today. PUBG’s new map will be smaller take on the Battle Royale genre.
This beta test is going to be unusual in some ways as very few players will be getting to play the new map as the version players are going to play is very early. Developer has said that they have not released content this early since the game’s first alpha last year.
The team is trying to get as much feedback as possible to fix changes with the final version of the game and give them time to do it early. Instead of the map being available on the PUBG test server, PUBG Team will be giving away keys that will unlock the map for you and so you can start checking it out which you can get via PUBG’s own website or social channels.
Keys will be only available to the PUBG owners on steam no plan for the Xbox users yet.
The Codename: Savage map start time is 2nd of April, 7pm PDT until the 5th of April, 4am PDT. Which is just the starting phase of public testing and PUBG claims next rollout will be bigger.

If you’ve been keeping up with all things PUBG, you may have already seen some screenshots and even a short clip from our upcoming 4×4 map. We promised you that you would get a chance to try the new map very early on and we are delivering on that promise. We haven’t released content so early in its development since our alpha testing stage. We’re doing this because we want to start getting your feedback as soon as possible and drive the development in the right direction.
At first, we are going to do a more limited test for Codename: Savage to make sure that nothing is too broken. Again, it’s a super early build, we hope you understand. The next test will be bigger!
PUBG is trying their best to bring the best experience with new content up to date, recently PUBG mobile was released and it was better than our expectations.
