Prince Of Persia has been dormant since the launch of Price Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Ubisoft has been very silent about if the franchise will ever see another entry, however, Price Of Persia creator is working to revive the franchise.
Model and TV host Chrissy Teigen posted on Twitter about how she enjoyed Prince Of Persia and wondered if the franchise would ever come back. This post caught the eye if Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner who explained that he is doing his best to revive Prince Of Persia.
Chrissy, I know a few other people who feel the same way. We’re doing our best to make it happen!
Jordan Mechner developed the very first Prince Of Persia title in 1989 and has helped with a number of games in the franchise even after Ubisoft acquired the publishing rights.
However, Ubisoft doesn’t seem to be interested in bringing back the franchise for obvious reasons but, we really hope that Mechner is successful in reviving the franchise.
Ubisoft is currently focused on Assassin’s Creed franchise which is still going strong with the launch of Assassin’s Creed Origins. Also, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is considered to be ubisoft’s successor to Prince Of Persia franchise.
Speaking of Assassin’s Creed, a concept art has leaked on the internet suggesting that the next Assassin’s Creed will be set in Feudal Japan.
The clue comes from comes from the artstation profile of Juhani Jokinen, associate lead concept artist at Ubisoft.
The leaked concept art features what seem to be Japanese Assassin’s standing inside one of the temples remnant of The “First Civilization” or “Those who came before”.
Do you think Mechner will be able to revive the Prince Of Persia franchise? Let us know in the comments.
