The AMD RX Vega Nano was shown for a brief period of time last year at the Capsaicin event but since then we have heard nothing about the graphics card or when it will be coming to market. Now we have seen the PowerColor RX Vega Nano prototype and it has some changes as compared to the original that we saw.
The one that we saw was in Silver and had a brushed aluminum finish as well as a single 8-pin power connector. This one, on the other hand, has an 8+6 pin power connector which means that more power can be provided to the graphics card and while this does not mean that there could be any better performance, that is something that we will have to see.
PowerColor did not confirm that the prototype would go into production but it is possible. The small form factor would be great for SFF builds and if the power draw is decent this could be a great graphics card. Like the mini-series of graphics cards from Zotac, this model also features a single fan for cooling. There is not much in terms of design. This is a prototype and hence the industrial design. It will be interesting to see how well the cooling holds up under load and how much power this little thing consumers and the power that it can provide keeping in mind the size of the graphics card.
