Another achievement for Sony as PlayStation 4 has managed to reach 82.2 Million shipments worldwide. These astonishing results were revealed by Sony in their financial results for the three months ended June 30, 2018.
PlayStation 4 might be in final phase but still, these systems have been selling like hotcakes and in the fourth quarter of the year, a total of 3.2 million PlayStation 4 systems have been sold. These numbers keep increasing every month as we reported that in April, Sony sold more than 76.1 million PS4 consoles for the fiscal year ended on March 31, 2018.
PS4 is clearly winning the console race of this generation and this can also give a head start to Sony who has already started working on PlayStation 5. There’s some time until then we have some great titles to witness on PS4 and see its power.
PS4 exclusive titles definitely play a big role in the success of the console and with the recent release of God Of War on PS4, there’s a lot of shifting seen from Xbox to PS4. God Of War is the best game you can play on the system and it lacks absolutely nothing to amaze you.
According to the President of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, they will never forget how they got here with the PS4 and they’ll keep in mind while working for the next-gen console. He admitted that they made some mistakes but they are definitely going to learn from them while moving forward.
Sony is the main brain behind the success of PS4 but i think some credit still goes to Microsoft because of the disaster that took place during Microsoft’s E3 2013 press conference when they announced Xbox One.
