Since the reveal of PlayStation 4 pro, many have raised their concerns that the upgraded console is basically PlayStation 5. However, Sony has clarified that it is essentially PlayStation 4, just with upgraded specs, and according to Sony PlayStation 4 Pro could raise the expectations for the PlayStation 5.
Speaking with Gamefront, Jim Ryan, Global Head of Marketing & Sales for PlayStation, said that if PlayStation 4 Pro is successful, which will be determined 2 months following its launch, this could raise the expectations for PlayStation 5.
We are doing something has never been done before in the industry, and even if we view it from a logical point of view, will it be successful?, we are still two months following the launch away to know whether we will actually be successful.
When asked that could PlayStation 4 Pro affect the decisions for PlayStation 5, he responded that he does not know yet that this console will affect any future decisions or not.
PlayStation VR has also launched, and many are under the impression that the virtual reality headset will only work with PlayStation 4. However, PlayStation VR can also work with Xbox One.
Sony has been marketing its upcoming console as a 4K capable machine, however, Andrew House himself admitted that most of the games will be upscaled to 4K instead of being native 4K. But there will be some some games that will support native 4K, and NBA 2K17 will be one of them.
Recently, 2K Games announced that NBA 2K 17 will run at native 4K and 60 frames per second on PlayStation 4 Pro.
NBA 2K17 will also render on 4K for the 1080p display, as this will result in a better image quality with anti-aliasing and HDR.
