Are you ready for some Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 chaos? Well you may be in luck as the open multiplayer should now be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The beta for the game, which can now be downloaded from the PlayStation Store features 24 player “multiplayer mayhem” as well as the chance to explore your personal Plants vs. Zombies Backyard Battleground. As you can see from the trailer above, the multiplayer test starts today and will run until January 18.
For Xbox One players, the Plants vs. Zombie Twitter account have confirmed that the beta is also now available:

Looking at the details on the PlayStation Store, microtransactions will be a part of the game so they may show up in the beta. As this test will be to look at performance issues and balancing though, they may not be used. We’ll have to see when we give the game a try.
It will be interesting to see how the game holds up when there are 24 players doing battle, and matches with that complexity can actually be played. It should be noted that this is a multiplayer only test so will need PlayStation Plus membership to actually be able to play. This is to be expected though. The download size (on PlayStation 4) is 16.1GB as stated on the Store so it’s not a huge download if you want to give it a try.
