Persona series has been exclusive to PlayStation for a long time but Atlus may finally release it for other platforms. There is a survey going around from Atlus that asked the community if they would like to see Persona 6, a new shooter game, RPG, strategy RPG, and which platform would you like to see it on.
Among the options, we have PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. If the community shows interest in Persona 6 for other platforms, it just might happen. It is a stretch to think Sony would lose the exclusivity deal but well, Sony does support PC from time to time so we may at least see the title on PC.
Also, one of the questions asked if fans would like to a remaster of the entire Persona series. Elsewhere, Atlus wanted to know if fans would like to see a completely new IP.
There are plenty of different questions in the extensive survey and there is so much we can speculate on. However, Persona 6 on Switch and other platforms would be very exciting to see.
Keep in mind that the survey alone means nothing but it is something. Atlus is working on its next game and the feedback you provide will have an impact.
Meanwhile, PlayStation 4 users can check out Persona 5 that released two years ago. While Persona 6 is a real possibility, developers have many hurdles to overcome.
Unfortunately, the hurdles to overcome [in game development] increase every year. According to Atlus director Naoto Hiraoka:
Thanks to the large amount of support we received for “Persona 5,” we have gotten a sense of accomplishment. But we can’t stop there. When we created “Persona 4,” there was pressure that it had to exceed “Persona 3.” Now, we will have to create a “6” which exceeds “5.” However, exceeding “5” will be difficult with the current staff. I would like to surpass this tall hurdle with everyone who joins us in this recruitment. The workplace is perfect for those who want a creative challenge when it comes to bringing games to the world.
