The Swedish game maker, Starbreeze has confirmed in a secret way during their financial report for the first quarter of 2018 that PAYDAY 3, which was previously confirmed in February 2017, will not be coming in near future.
Starbreeze is looking to significantly increase revenues by 2020 and would like to reach $228.6 million in 2020. Starbreeze also revealed which games will help the company to reach its revenue target by 2020.
Starbreeze listed games like ”PayDay 2”, which the company will support till the end of 2019 with new content, “Overkill’s The Walking Dead”, a cooperative “Crossfire” game,”System Shock 3″ and “Psychonauts 2”.
Payday 3 visited at www.games.chWe are left in doubt, Due to the PayDay 3 not being mentioned in the list meaning it will not release in 2020 thus won’t contribute to the expected revenue.
PayDay 3 will be something else, in a recent interview, PayDay producer Almir talked about the game and said it will be something else, however, he didn’t reveal anything for the upcoming game because it might change in the future.
In January, Starbreeze raised $44 million to speed up the production of PayDay 3 and cover costs of Overkill’s The Walking Dead.
In other news, Despite having been released 4 years ago, Overkill is continuing its promise of delivering updates for Payday 2, this time in the form of Payday VR which will come later this year.
In related news, Starbreeze also mentioned in their financial statement that gameplay for Overkill’s The Walking Dead will be revealed at E3 2018. Recently we got our first look at the second character of the game, Maya who was revealed through a trailer full of emotions and horror.
We will have to wait until E3 next month to find out more about the upcoming games by Starbreeze and maybe something about PayDay 3.
