Overwatch Lead Programmer Responds To Game Crashing When Using AMD Hardware

Overwatch has been crashing for multiple users for the past few weeks but we now have an update from Overwatch Lead Programmer.

There have been some concerns regarding AMD drivers and the Overwatch community has been very vocal about it. It has been a long time since the concern was first raised and nothing has been done so far but now we have got a response from one of the Overwatch Lead Programmer who claims that Blizzard is working with AMD in order to fix the issue.

It seems that people with new drivers cannot play older games and people with old drivers cannot play new games and players are forced to cycle back and forth between drivers in order to play games depending on when the game came out.

According to the Overwatch Lead Programmer:

As a lead programmer on the Overwatch team I’m really sad that you feel this way. I know this issue is frustrating for players who are experiencing it, but we absolutely do care, and we’re working together with AMD to try to fix the problem.Whenever we have new information we’ll be updating this thread on our tech support forums. Cheers.

It is important to note that not all people that own AMD graphics cards have been affected by this issue. While plenty of people have reported that the issue is there are those that are also facing these issues on Nvidia and integrated graphics and there are those that are using AMD graphics cards but have never faced a crash.

At this point in time, we are not sure what the reason behind these crashes is but we should find out when the fix comes out and the issue is resolved once and for all. You can also check out the Gigabyte custom Vega 64 and the Red Devil Vega 64 and 56.

Let us know what you think about this issue and why you think the teams are taking so long.
