The Oculus Go was announced a while back and from the looks of the packaging, it seems that the product is ready to ship. While that is great VR has been held back because of the lack of content that the platform has to offer. Having that said the leaked image shows 1000+ apps, games, and movies.

If that is the case at launch then there should be a lot of content for you to look forward to if you were looking forward to getting the Oculus Go. While this should be plenty for the initial launch it goes without saying that Oculus will need to bring more people on board and add more apps and games with the passage of time.

While the previous generation VR experience was not affordable, Oculus Go aims to change that with a price of $199, this is something that almost everyone can afford. If you are looking to get into the world of VR without losing your kidney then this is one way of doing just that.

Oculus Go is an all-in-one VR headset that requires no PC and no additional wires attached. You can check out the video regarding the device below in order to get yourself acquainted with what the device is and what it has to offer.

Oculus head of VR Hugo Barra talked about the audio of the Oculus Go and the following is what he had to say:

“Audio drivers are built right into the headset, makes getting in and out of VR much faster and easier to share with another person.”

Be sure to check out the leaked packaging below to give you an idea of what you can expect the device and the packaging to look like if you are planning to get one of these stand-alone VR headsets for yourself.

To compete with the Oculus Go, HTC is releasing the HTC Vive Focus which is also a stand-alone headset. While the app integration will be different you can expect to have a similar experience on both devices. You can check out further details here.

With new technology and upcoming VR products coming out, VR should become cheaper and available to the mass market. While this is great, as of right now VR is not mature enough to be adopted by the masses but I hope that it gets there.

Let us know what you think about the Oculus Go and whether or not you are interested in getting one of these VR headsets.
