Unlike previous Ti models, the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti has been announced alongside the Nvidia RTX 2080 and the graphics card is crazy fast. It is better in performance as compared to the Titan V, which is a $3000 graphics card. But the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti only costs $999, that is some impressive value for money.
The graphics card features 11 GB of GDDR6 and 4352 CUDA Cores. That is some pretty impressive specs. The Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti is the new top of the line graphics card from Nvidia and the single most powerful graphics card on the market right now.
The Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti has been made with realtime Ray Tracing in mind and you get more details when it comes to reflections. Not only is the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti faster than the Titan V, it is also faster than a pair of GTX 1080 Tis in SLI, in most cases. That is some impressive amount of power from a single graphics card.
Developers all over the world are working on providing the support for the RTX graphics cards. While there were games at the event that will support this feature, there will be more games coming out that will support this feature. Epic Games has already talked about how devs should adopt this technology and the following is what the devs had to say in this regard:
The demo we showed in partnership with ILMxLab is the first step in that direction. Part of the scene is rendered and part is ray traced, all the shadows and reflections come from ray tracing, and like movies, game engines are going to adopt this. You’re going to see more and more ray-traced elements in our scenes, and I think ten years from now you might find nothing but ray tracing in our engines. Everybody who’s starting a triple-A project, they all should be thinking about ray tracing.
