Halo 5 is not coming to PC after all, unfortunately. After some recent rumors and reports regarding the game’s arrival on PC, however, Microsoft has officially shut down the chances of Halo 5 PC.
According to Microsoft, it has no “plans to launch Halo 5: Guardians on Windows 10 PC.” But Halo 6 aka Halo Infinite is a different story.
Microsoft previously confirmed that Halo 5 is going to be the final Xbox exclusive Halo game. The next one will be an “Xbox Console Exclusive” which is Microsoft’s term for anything that is also available on Windows 10.
Really, we’re all passionate about Halo … and we want to root for the franchise we love and have always associated with Xbox platforms and keynotes. Don’t worry, Halo will have its grand moments again for sure, but it’s actually kind of nice to have a breather and let the team stay heads down working on what’s next that’ll be ready when it’s ready.

Halo 5 released back in 2015 but turned out to be a mediocre game. 343i and Microsoft have made changes to the way development is handled so expectations are high from Halo 6 but there is something more interesting going on at 343i. It seems the developer could be working on a new IP alongside Halo Infinite. According to 343i:

No, not those adventures, but plenty of exciting ones regardless – some which might surprise you more than others.
After Halo 5, the series does need a break so a new IP would help Xbox with its first-party exclusive lineup.
