Nintendo Switch Update 6.0 Will Permanently Link Nintendo And User Accounts

Nintendo Switch update 6.0 is going to be released on September 18th. Here is what you need to know about the upcoming udpate and what it offers.

Nintendo Switch update 6.0 is going to be released on September 18th, which is only a few days away and with the upcoming update, the new online features are going to be implemented. Once the upcoming Nintendo Switch update 6.0 is released, the user’s Nintendo Switch account will be linked to the Nintendo account and you will not be able to unlink them. If you were going to do that then you should do it before the update comes out.

Once the update does live, the eShop will be down for maintenance and when the process is complete the membership will be available for purchase from the official store. If you are interested in keeping you saved files and syncing them with the cloud then this is something worth looking into but it is also worth mentioning that not all games will come with this feature and this seems to be a security measure that Nintendo is taking to avoid security breach and piracy.

The following is what Nintendo had to say regarding the matter:

The vast majority of Nintendo Switch games will support Save Data Cloud backup. However, in certain games, this feature would make it possible to, for example, regain items that had been traded to other players, or revert to a higher online multiplayer ranking that had been lost. To ensure fair play, Save Data Cloud backup may not be enabled for such games. To ensure that Save Data Cloud backups cannot be used to unfairly affect online multiplayer rankings, the feature will not be enabled in Splatoon 2.

It is safe to say that when you are paying for a service you expect all the games that come out on the platform to support the features that it has to offer. Keeping in mind that these games that do not come with cloud sync are first party titles. This is the very least that the company can provide support for.
