Nintendo Switch is selling like hot cakes and many third party developers are praising Nintendo for its innovation in the console department. The hybrid nature of the console gives the users freedom to take the console with them but, it comes at a cost of system power and THQ Nordic is not happy about Switch not being powerful enough.
Speaking with GameIndustry, THQ Nordic’s business and product development director Reinhard Pollice talked about the Nintendo Switch. Reinhard admitted that Switch is not powerful enough as the company hoped it to be and it also makes it difficult for them to bring their games to Switch.
We’ve been in touch with [Nintendo] about Switch for more than a year, so we’ve been looking at it for our current line-up and… we look wherever it’s possible. It’s a bit sad that they haven’t gone out with a more beefy hardware but it is what it is, so we just have to work our way around it.
However, THQ Nordic is not the only developer finding is difficult o run its games on Switch smoothly. According to a report, Ubisoft is facing difficulties to port Steep on Switch.
The report suggests that running the game on Switch is not a problem for Ubisoft but, the actual problem is the online features. The report suggests that Ubisoft is finding it so difficult that the company has brought in Nintendo for help.
However, other developers like Telltale Games is eager to bring its games to Switch. According to Telltale Games’ Job Stauffer, while the studio has not announced the Minecraft: Story Mode second season for Switch but, hopes that it will be in the future.
