Nintendo Files Trademark for XY&Z, New Pokemon Game Coming?

Nintendo has filed a new trademark for something called XY&Z. It looks like a new game is coming, as it doesn't refer to the recently announced anime.

New trademark listing has been spotted for something called XY&Z. A Pokemon anime of the same name was announced in September, but strangely none of the anime companies are mentioned in the trademark, which is unusual.

The trademark mentions Nintendo, GameFreak ( JP video game developer, known for work on Pokemon games) and Creature (known for developing Pokemon card games) as its registrars.

Moreover, there doesn’t seem to be any mention of animation or video entertainment related product. This indicates that Pokemon XY&Z might actually be a new title in development.

The bad news is that Japanese trademarks aren’t always clear and due to them being vague, we can’t say for sure whay they’ll apply to. They can be either video games, anime, food etc, so we can’t consider this reliable information and as a confirmation of a new game.

Trademark Info

However, we know that Pokemon games and other related products have been leaked in the past by such trademarks. For now, we can only speculate about what this trademark is referring to.

We’ll have more for you as soon as the story further develops. Until then, feel free to let us know what you think of this in the comments below!
