With the reintroduction of the Tomb Raider series being taken to yet another height thanks to Rise of the Tomb Raider, it is almost certain that we will get a new Tomb Raider movie soon.
We are still a long way to go until that time, but people were curious as to who would star as Lara Croft now that people believe Angelina Jolie will not suit the role given her age.
The same question was asked from Crystal Dynamics’ Michael Brinker, who is the senior designer for Rise of the Tomb Raider. While discussing who could star in the next Tomb Raider movie, he said:
Oh man, that’s a tough one. To be honest, I actually met [Lara Croft’s voice and motion-capture actor] Camilla Luddington and I think she’s fantastic in her portrayal of Lara. I wouldn’t mind seeing her have a crack at actually bringing the character to the on-screen. I think that’d be pretty cool. She’s really embodied a lot of what I feel like Lara is, even just in her voice. I’d love to see what she’d do with it on the big screen.
Well, alright, he is not the guy who will decide but he is a senior member of the development team and I think his views reflect the views of the development studio in general.
How would you like to see Camilla Luddington playing the role of Lara Croft in the next Tomb Raider movie?
