We already know that there are multiple Star Wars games in development and one of them is being developed by Visceral Games, the studio behind Dead Space and Battlefield Hardline. Amy Hennig is the game director for this new Star Wars game, who is known for working on Uncharted series.
When it was announced that Amy Hennig will be joining Visceral Games to work on the new Star Wars game many assumed that the game would be similar to the Uncharted games. However, Amy Hennig has clarified that it won’t be.
According to Amy, the new Star Wars game will be spiritually similar to Uncharted series and that’s just about it. Speaking with Glixel, she insisted that it won’t be “Star Wars uncharted” and said that it is an important distinction to be made.
She explained that in Uncharted players will not see the game cutting away to show the villain’s point of view, it is a third person game but players are always following the protagonist like Indiana Jones movies.
She further added that Star Wars is different, it is an adventure with multiple character arcs which enables “everyone to do things in parallel”.
Star Wars Battlefront is the first Star Wars game published by EA and the publisher has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will launch in 2017. However, this announcement comes as no surprise since the first game did way better financially than what EA was expecting from it.
The sequel to Star Wars Battlefront was first detailed by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen and revealed that the sequel will have bigger and better worlds and will feature content from new movies.
The new Star Wars game from Visceral Games will be an action adventure title and is speculated to launch in 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
