Update: A full reveal shows a high-intensity mission with the Ghosts.
Original Story: Ghost Recon Wildlands is getting a crossover event with Splinter Cell. According to Ubisoft, a new PvE mission will bring Sam Fisher and the Ghosts together to hunt down a common enemy. Details aren’t yet shared but an update on April 10 will bring the new content.
What’s interesting is that the brief teaser trailer shared with the community featured Sam Fisher, voiced by the original actor, Micheal Ironside. The man was dropped from the role in Blacklist. But he’s seemingly reprising his role in the new PvE mission.
Ghost Recon Wildlands players will get to enjoy this content for free, so no season pass requirement. There are speculations that with the crossover, Ubisoft is kicking off the marketing of its new Splinter Cell game. It doesn’t make sense for Ironside to return only for a brief PvE mission, there is definitely more to it.
Ubisoft could be planning to reveal a new Splinter Cell game at E3 2018, or weeks prior to the event. Nothing is set in stone as all we have are speculations and rumors. But it has been a long time since we saw Sam Fisher so his return shouldn’t be too far away.
As for Ghost Recon Wildlands, it is a successful Ubisoft venture, unlike 2013’s Blacklist that placed Splinter Cell on hiatus. Wildlands is available to play on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can download the game from uPlay, Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Marketplace.
