Update: An image of a collector’s edition for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint appeared today via German Ubisoft store but was pulled shortly. You can check out the image below.
Original Story: According to the latest leak, the upcoming game in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series is called Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It’s a direct sequel to Ghost Recon: Wildlands. This information comes from a now deleted post on Reddit. Since there’s no official confirmation, it should be treated as a rumor for now.
As mentioned in the leak, Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be a story driven 4 player experience, similar to 2017’s Wildlands.
The new Ghost Recon game will feature Major Cole D. Walker, who was featured in previous Operation Oracle update for Ghost Recon Wildlands. This time Cole has “gone rogue and seems that he has killed Holt and Midas, possibly Weaver too, and his army of mostly weaponized drones.”
The source says that the upcoming Tom Clancy Ghost Recon game will arrive on October 4 for Microsoft’s Xbox One, PC and Sony’s PlayStation 4.
There’s no mention of multiplayer yet but the post said that the game will come with a collector’s edition called “Wolves”, available exclusively through Ubisoft Store. The collector’s edition of the game comes with a 24cm figurine of Cole, a map, arts, Year 1 Pass, and Ultimate Pack (which consists of some missions, vehicles, cosmetics, and early class unlocks).
This collector’s edition will also allow the players to play Breakpoint 3 days earlier before the launches worldwide with a standard version.
The leaker mentions that there will be a gameplay reveal of the upcoming Ghost Recon game. It’ll be alpha footage, which tells us that the game is probably not far into development. According to the post, the gameplay reveal shows a sequence with a “nice jungle, with mud mechanics, then to clearing an outpost”.
This could also turn out to be the game that Ubisoft has teased in the latest released DLC update for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Operation Oracle. In response to the questions related to this leak on Twitter, Ubisoft has advised all the fans to tune in today at 2:30 p.m. EDT/11:30 a.m PDT for Ghost Recon World Premiere.
The event is most likely going to be the official reveal of Ghost Recon Breakpoint. As mentioned in the leak, we can possibly see alpha footage of Breakpoint’s gameplay today.
