New Dota 2 Hero Sylph Found in Update Code; Abilities, Ultimate, Lore and More

While there is little that we know about the DOTA 2 hero Sylph there are mentions of such a character in literature and mythology.

DOTA 2 is a very popular game and on the top of the Steam charts but it has been a while since we have got a new hero in the game. That might change once the Battle Pass is over since there are hints of a new DOTA 2 hero Sylph in the code of the Battle Pass 2017 update that was released a while back.

While there is little that we know about the DOTA 2 hero Sylph there are mentions of such a character in literature and mythology. Sylph, also called sylphid is a mythological spirit of the air. That should give our imagination enough to wonder what the new DOTA 2 hero will be like.

We already have Ember Spirit, Storm and Earth. Air will be an interesting addition into the mix. The new hero could have similar style and abilities. Some of the code regarding the new DOTA 2 hero Sylph also reveals the abilities that the new hero will have.

One of the abilities that the new hero has is Grapple this could be similar to hook, timberchain or treedance. Another ability is Shadow Realm which is most likely a temporary stealth or banish ability that will have an impact on strike. Flash Powder is the third ability of the new DOTA 2 hero Sylph, if the name is taken literally then this will blind enemies.

Will-O-Wisp seems to be the ultimate of the hero and this could be a slow moving projectile ultimate attack. This is mostly speculation so do note that this information to hear. We should be able to learn more about the new hero later this month.

According to lore the color of the 4rth spirit is supposed to be Dark Purple+Bright Purple, that combination is usually put together in shadows. It is also interesting to note that Will-o-Wisp is what the DOTA 2 character IO is.

Wisps are magical spirit-like creatures that are commonly connected to the Moon and Stars and in Dota 2 the Goddess of the Moon is Selemene. Even though she seems to be a normal woman pretending to be one. All this is very interesting.

You should not believe everything that is here in the code as things can change over time. If I recall correctly Underlord was originally going to be renamed Abyssal Underlord and was going to be a fat character with 4 spider legs and 2 Swords. Look what the character actually looks like. You can check out the code here.

Let us know what you think about the new DOTA 2 hero Sylph and what you want the character to be like.
